I assumed that the academy would have all the ususal athletic teams given where the facilities on Earth are located, the preponderance of humans in their ranks, and the indications that Starfleet Academy in San Francisco is at least as large as the largest 21st century universities in North America.

I don't recall what the mascots of West Point and Annapolis are.
