JERICHO on CBS Revival

Jericho was definitely different. It wasn't yet another cop/laywer/doctor show and it was a modern-day sci-fi show that didn't revolve around some sort of law enforcement scenario. I'd like it back just because of that.

Agreed. Jericho is worth saving. It's uniquely different.

I will say, though, that between IRS Lady, Bar Bitch, the doctor wife, the deaf sister and even the teenage girl Dork Boy was masturbating to it did have a very attractive female cast.
Am I misreading this or did you just say you find Dale sexy? :D

Hey, some guy is starting Trek United for Jericho. I dunno, I think I'll send my thirty bucks to Obama instead.

It was cancelled. TWICE

I think in TV-exec terms that's "a big failure."

Maybe it should've been the cutting-edge, post-apocolyptic drama evreyone says it was after it's first winter hiatus from the START instead of being light-hearted irreverant family melodrama with people hanging out in a bar with an endless supply of booze and having BBQs on picnic tables soaked with radioactive rain water.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

I agree with Treker....

Love to be proven wrong but I think we've seen the last of it. The 'couple of weeks' announcements been due for a month or two now.....

These "Bring Back XXXXX" show campaigns are too dull. They should do something exciting to get people going. How about they get the wrestler Jericho to challenge CBS executives to bring his favorite show back. They could have a big PPV event with a handicap match where if they lose they have to put it back on the air. Or better yet they could bring back their vampire wrestler Gangrel to wrestle Jericho to find out if CBS will bring back Jericho or Moonlight.

as a Moonlight fan I feel for you all.

at least the moonies get to move(sniff)on(sniff.) (insert crying smilie here)

I really enjoyed Jericho, but hold out no hope whatsoever for new episodes. It was amazing that they even let them cme back and wrap things up the way they did. It never hurts to hope, but I expect there's little to be done.

Hell, I am still waiting for the once-rumored return of Geena Davis in Commander in Chief... but I don't expect it.

Someone should get a job at Blackwater, rise to the top, create a conspiracy to take over the United States and then when half the country is theirs, force everyone to watch Jericho as part of a new Patriot Act.

That would make more sense than the conspiracy they made up for the show.

Hey, if there was some insane and elaborate way to knock off all the right wing crazies in the US... I'd probably take it.

Yes, but you see, by killing millions of innocent people, we can somehow count on all the evil people to gather in one specific city which we could also nuke! It's ingenious! Muahaha!

I must admit, they probably had one twist too many in that storyline.

I don't know, the conspiracy how John Smith explained it made sense to me... trying to purify the nation, but not quite getting it right. What always bothered me was Valente. He was no longer responsible for the attacks, so why was he trying to hide the "smoking gun"? What is his purpose or reasoning behind any of that?

Maybe because North Korea and Iran had been 'nuked off the map' or however it was they put it and the bomb could prove that was false, which would cause a serious problem for the Cheyenne government (as we saw). I suppose also possible that Jennings and Rall had manipulated "John Smith" into committing the attacks, though that's starting to get REALLY convoluted...

"Not getting it quite right" is an understatement. The left-wing loonies basically created a power vacuum that they were not prepared to step in and immediately fill. Power abhors a vacuum, so of course someone will fill it, and it happened to be the left-wing loonies' enemies. But the odds were pretty good it would be somebody they didn't approve of, so what exactly did they accomplish, except murdering millions of people?

If they didn't have a power infrastructure set up and ready to go - which would require thousands of people to actually be in on at least part of the scheme, because you can't weild power with just five people in your gang - their scheme was always doomed to failure and if they had half a brain, they should have foreseen that.

Removing a corrupt power structure just to create a vacuum that will inevitably be quickly filled by another corrupt power structure (duh!) is not my idea of a brilliant plan. I know Hollywood writers have a reputation for being out of touch with the reality of how things work, but anyone should have been able to predict that result, even if they aren't any kind of DC insider or power-monger.

Just try reading a few history books. Sudden violent vacuums of power generally lead to very bad things as the vacuum is filled by god only knows who, because the unsavory types are precisely the ones who are primed to take advantage of power vacuums, and the most ruthless will elbow their way to the top. It's happened many times in history, but I can't think of one example of a conspiracy this stupid ever happening in real life, and considering how stupid humans can be, that's a pretty amazing accomplishment.

From what I saw, I was under the impression that John Smith didn't care so much who got into power, but he just wanted a "reboot" so any new power would come in and it wouldn't have the close ties to the corporation that the current government does. Unfortunately, the corporation was strong enough after the attacks that it could develop it's own company-owned government. Like I said, it seemed like a logical story to me.

Also just found this... two of the stars, Ashley Scott and Brad Beyer, have heard rumors that Jericho won't get a third season, but rather a big screen appearance:
"We got here and caught win of a possible movie idea, which we thought was really good," said Scott, who played Emily Sullivan in the series. "I think Brad heard about it online the other day, and I just heard tonight, and I thought that would be really wonderful, wouldn't it? Kind of put a closing on it."
Linky

I would be curious to see what they set the movie around. Like Beyer said in the article, there's still a lot of story to tell... I would imagine it would have to do with more ASA troops moving into Jericho to reclaim their rebelling Major Beck & Co.
