Favorite Alternate Reality stories

Who knows, maybe that information was part of the original Myriad Universes project. It's a concept that's been tossed around for a while now; perhaps, in the original incarnation, all the stories would be based on canonical alt. universes instead of just the one on the current line-up (I think?).

Fictitously yours, Trent Roman

That's doubtful, if the request came from John Ordover. MyrU is Marco's project.

From it's inception, or might it have been something he inherited when John left?

^ From its inception. This has been a pet project of Marco since he started at Pocket. It was never one of John's.

Good things do come to those who wait.

Is Marco too busy these days to post with us mere mortals?

^ Marco made a command decision a while back when he realized that posting on the boards was taking too much time away from actually, y'know, working. Keep in mind that he's responsible for a lot more than just the Trek books, and his workload has actually increased over the past couple of years, leaving him with little enough leisure time to spend with his family, much less on the Internet.

So that's a yes, then ;)

Shame. Man was a great help to us inquisitive busybodies.

^Yeah. But at least we still have plenty of authors here to ask question, and get information from.

-Dark Mirror (my favourite Trek book probably of all time along with Imzadi, loved how the Next Generation carried on from Mirror, Mirror)

-Q-Sqaured

-Crucible McCoy (a great character study as well as an interesting look into an alterate timeline)

^ Yeah, yeah. I was just pleased that somebody mentioned Provenance of Shadows in this thread.

And doorstop? Doorstop?!? And to think I tried to craft a brick...

Here's your next project, David:

A Million And One Uses for the Self-Sealing Stembolt 2209-2380

Or would you prefer:

Vulcan Love Slave, a Tetrilogy in Nine Parts

Or even:

Burning Hearts of Qo'noS, The Eleventh Cycle

Requiem by Micheal J. Friedman I've always liked that book taking place when Cestus 3 was being attacked by the Gorn. Also Crucible The McCoy novel was my favorite of that series. And Diane Duane's Mirror Universe novel. And Last Years Mirror Universe books as well. Imzadi is one of my favorite books.

^^But Requiem wasn't an alternate reality, was it? Picard was actually there in the past, just before Kirk's Enterprise arrived at Cestus. It was the same reality, but a hitherto unrevealed part of it.
