For All Mankind Trailer - Apple TV- SPOILER

He really is Elon-adjacent if his 'future of humanity on Mars' is that city and all the workers who toiled and died to help get to the point to make it possible are kicked to the curb for robots

lol what if elon does not exist in that alternate earth and dev is the for all mankind verison of elon musk

or or what if elon does exist but is not the same elon from our earth and is a different elon on the for all mankind alternate earth

The Tech Bro archetype is unfortunately quite widespread now. People who are only interested in the technology but completely neglect its social impact or potential deadly impact if abused. Oppenheimer may have been an early version of it and when he finally realized what the nuclear bomb was going to be used for and what it would actually do to humans it was far too late and it was taken out of his hand.

When Tech Bro culture intersects with a shall we say less than noble character we get things like Palantir and the many other tech applications used for surveillance and ethically at leas questionable data collection on people. I don't think Dev is on Elon's level of reprehensible character traits but as the scene with him and Alex has shown he hs big deficits in human behaviour as he only focuses on the technical aspects.

So jury is still out for me if he was involved in these plans but it doesn't look good at all that he wasn't involved, possibly one of the leads for this whole thing in his quest to create the perfect environment and technology.

I liked this episode more than I liked last week's and the very beginning did get me more emotional than last week too. I feel like the plot is finally starting to take shape and loved the ending with the automation files being leaked. Really excited to see how this plays out, especially with the mission to Titan having just started.

I think the show is setting up Aleida to replace Dev as head of the company. Makes me wonder if we will even see Earth in the final season. They are running out of Earth characters on the show.

Enjoying it all more than I initially thought I would...sorry to see
Wrenn Schmidt/Margo Madsen "go" in the middle (kinda reminded me of a sorta similar plot twist in
The Americans) but she did come back...I do love her role!

@tomalak301
I am also excited to see how things play out on the Titan mission!

"Mars is ours! Mars is ours! Mars is ours!"

So begins the uprising but it's only going to get messier from here. Even if those were just rubber bullets during the riot, death is just around the corner and that's going to only to make everything even worse.

I'm not surprised that each Palmer and Dev figured out one half of the leak puzzle almost immediately and good for both Lily and Alex to stand their ground when the "adults" in the room tried to tell them that they were foolish and didn't consider the consequences. They have every right to be angry, but at the same time, they definitely didn't foresee the protests get so ugly so fast when they should have. For all of their science knowledge, they clearly haven't taken any Earth history lessons. Either way, I especially loved seeing Alex call out Dev yet again for his bullshit, particularly how he didn't know what Ed really wanted.

And look who is back, just in time for said uprising. I honestly didn't expect to see Irina again, but like any good KGB cockroach, she climbed right back into power. Of course she was the one to push Lenya to escalate the situation against the peaceful protesters. Undoubtedly she'll turn on him, too, if he isn't able to contain the situation...which he won't. Also, fuck her for that barb about Margo, but good on Aleida for not rising to that troll bait.

I'm bummed out but not surprised that Fred not only knew more about what was going on with Kuragin, but that he was the who attacked Boyd...and, oh, he accidentally killed that guy, too. And of course Palmer knows all about it. On the one hand, I'm relieved it's not some big conspiracy that's going on, but on the other hand, I feel for Boyd and the feeling of betrayal she's experiencing. Not only that, but now she doesn't know who she can trust amongst the MPK and that can be very dangerous during such a volatile situation right now.

That escalated quickly. I forgot who Irina was so I did a quick read up on her for a refresher. Yeah she's not good. They are either setting up Boyd to be killed or switch sides. I hope it's not the former because I've liked the character and her development this season so far. I'm glad they took the momentum from last week and are really upping the game now. The first couple of episodes were a little on the slower side, but this is shaping up to be a nice season. I just hope they get back into Space soon. I've missed the space scenes, though I understand why what is happening on Happy Valley is much more important.

Yeah, that escalated fast and rightfully so.

This happens when life altering decisions are made without the consent of those who will be affected by it the most. Dev is just the amalgamation of character traits who only see the spreadsheets, the diagrams and the technological challenge without even considering the human factor at all and Alex called him out for it - Ed is smiling wherever he is.

Boyd will switch sides, i don't think that will come as a big shock and it's safe to assume the "Mars is ours!" movement will take control of Happy Valley prompting the military escalation they already set up and that has been seen in the trailers, so things will boil over and not calm down in the slightest.

Irina returning was cool, well written villains like her are sorely needed and she is fantastic as villains go.

It's just sad to see it took hurting his daughter for Miles to get out of his way ( i think) but i don't know what to make of the shot of Palmer James, the police chief, seeing Miles beat down that cop. Will this get personal between them?

So speculation time - military is incoming and i assume also with heavier weapons than just pistols and rifles. The protestors will take control of Happy Valley next episode and because they're not diots they know a larger response will come in a few months ( weeks?) so they have time to prepare. Now it's a toss up how much force the Marines are allowed to use - contained or all out war.

In a contained setting they'll likely "just" breach and start clearing out people and shipping them off, possibly a couple of firefights with armed resistance cells. All Out War means they'll start destroying life supporting installations like the hydroponics bays, cutting off food supply shipments and possibly also disrupting the water supply, basically siege tactics to force the people to surrender.
Given everybody has time to prepare i don't know how the Martians can resist that without heavier weapons and i don't see them having something in their hand of cards that could resist a dedicated military force other than public pressure.

This season is just awesome but i still wish they'd go back to more exploring in the final season, this doesn't have to be a prequel to The Expanse.

It still seems to take a month to get from Earth to Mars, from Aleida's comments. Unless the moon marines are already on the way. But with their setting up Stevens last week, it looks like they're not.

I think it's been telegraphed from the beginning that Boyd will switch sides. The only question is when she'll do it. Like I said before, she's now in a very dangerous position of not knowing who she can trust. Which actually raises a second question: How can she convince the rioters to trust her?

Anyone want to place odds on whether or not that tree survives to the end of the season?

When Alex decided to hack and leak the automation secrets, he should have had an exit strategy planned. His best option would have been to get on his motorcycle and take off and join the N. Korean and become another defector at the ISN Base, before the shit hit the fan.
