'75 and '76 would have been very short years.
The obvious is no, and also, they were always clueless about DW. Period.
I have no idea what this is about.
They’re saying that if Doctor Who had taken a break after “Revenge of the Cybermen” (which aired April-May 1975) and hadn’t come back until Christmas 1976, they’d have drifted away from Doctor Who.
However, the show has had between-seasons periods this long before, and I don’t mean the sixteen years.

Why would there have been nothing between May '75 and Christmas '76? I don't get it.
Back through the 70s Who aired around 24 plus episodes every year, so there really never was a time when Who felt it was gone to quickly and for too long from our tv screens, but what might have helped was having 40/50 year old plus old actors back in those days, who had stronger knees to help them coop with such a larger number of yearly episodes. Lol
I think Tennant doing 4 movies broke the show.

There's going to be nothing between Reality War and Xmas 2026.
Very different circumstances. The only common thread is that they're both Doctor Who.
Hell, the same could be said about all of us in 1995 and 2004 (approximately before when we knew about its return).
I will admit, at this point waiting for the next Doctor Who is starting to feel like Seymour the dog waiting for Fry to return...
