About The Book

An all-new Star Trek novel celebrating the sixtieth anniversary of Star Trek: The Original Series, continuing the legacy of Captain James T. Kirk and the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise

2269: For generations, the planet Voyzr has been torn apart by civil war. Peace seems impossible until Captain Kirk, along with a green young ensign named Pavel Chekov, boldly take action to get both sides talking to each other at last.

2289: Invited to celebrate twenty years of peace, the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise-A is returning to Voyzr as honored guests, but Security Chief Chekov is all too aware that the war is still in living memory and that not everyone has forgiven or forgotten past grievances. He's determined to ensure the festivities go off smoothly, only to find himself at the center of an insidious plot to plunge the planet back into war.

Cut off from his ship, his captain, and his crewmates, and replaced by a vengeful imposter, Chekov is on his own, racing against time to stop a celebration of peace from ending in tragedy....

Hmm. Given the timespan, having an WNMHGB-era ship juxtaposed with TWOK-era uniforms actually makes sense.

Just as with any other GC opus, I await this one with a worm on my tongue. Looking at the B&N web site, I might be able to get it sometime next week.

Reminds me of when John Ordover said people complained about TNG #30, Blaze of Glory, having a TOS-era Constitution class ship on the cover. Tell 'em to read the book!

Starting the audiobook. The Historian's Note does not reference any particular episode but my TOS knowledge has, I'm afraid, become rusty. Is it recommended I rewatch something in particular?

Without being too spoilery, it wouldn't hurt to review "Turnabout Intruder," although, as always, I don't assume knowledge of any individual episode. I recap any information you need to know.
