Post Your Dreams Thread

Last night I dreamed I was walking around in a late friend's neighborhood. I went to his house and there were several people inside chatting and wandering around. I saw my late friend sitting on his sofa and I sat down next to him. I put my hand on his leg and asked why he was here because he was dead. He went quiet and didn't look at me or answer. I saw his wife (also deceased) walking around, getting drinks for people and then I woke up. I really miss them. A strangely disturbing dream.

This is a recurring theme I've had for a number of years now. I see my late parents and my oldest sister in my dreams, though not always together. Sometimes I dream they're still part of the living, and we chat with one another. The weird part is when I dream they were inexplicably "brought back to life" (but not as zombies or ghosts), while being conscious that they had passed away.

I dream about my late husband often, but in those dreams it never occurs to me that he's actually dead. Different themes for different loved ones, I guess.

I had dreams where I was looking in a mirror, and saw I had hair again—not good hair though…and dreamed of a documentary on the year 2007…I could see the numbers fine—though I have heard that most usually can’t see digits, hands, etc.

I have heard it said we cannot conceive of more than 7-10 items:

Common wisdom is to never tell a character in a dream that they don’t exist.

Dreamt last night that I went to visit my brother and his family in the new home they bought and were in the middle of moving in to.
So far, so good - the people in the dream are people I'm familiar with.
Then it takes a weird turn, my brother, sister in law, and myself decided to walk up the street to the end of the cul de sac and introduce ourselves to the neighbors.
They open the door and it's a family from India - father, mother, sister and brother.
And this is why it's weird.
Normally when I have dreams with people in it, it's people I know.
I have no idea who these people were.
Did my brain/subconscious create a whole family out of nothing - or, are they some sort of amalgamation of various individuals I've met over the years.

I had a dream where I found a VCR machine but it was not a VHS or BETA, it was a slightly larger tape made by Phillips called the McGoon. The dream frustrated me because I couldn't get the tapes to play and I didn't understand why it was named the McGoon.. I had to wake up and google it to remember it was called V2000. What a stupid boring pointlessly trivial dream.

I love the name, McGoon! I might buy it just for the name, so I could toss the name around. "So, I was watching someone play a tune with a spoon on the McGoon last night..."

I had a horrible nightmare last night. I was hanging out with some friends in a big glass and metal building when some terrorists broke in and took us all hostage and started killing people in horrible ways. One guy was shivering in a terrified heap as one of our captors advanced on him with a gun with murder in mind. Suddenly some military force broke in and during the ensuing fire fight, the terrorists were killed. I woke up when my leg cramped, thank goodness. It was a very scary and bloody dream and I don't know why my brain produced it. I don't watch movies or tv shows that are gory at all. Stupid brain!

Some excitement at least.

My worst are work dreams.

It is pure hell to work 12 hours…go to bed…dream you are still at work—and then the alarm goes off—and back to work you go

—as if you never left.

I dreamed that I was in a museum or a storage facility for museum relics. I was surrounded by artifacts from ancient Egypt and I was so happy checking everything out, when some people broke in and started fighting with me. The dream ended quickly after we started fighting. I really love reading about or experiencing ancient/historic cultures and artifacts - especially Egyptian.

I dreamed I was a passenger in a car driving down a long road and on the sides out of my window I could see buildings and machines and it was a modern spaceport like something you'd see in a movie and rockets taking off and landing, yes landing seems in my dream the whole landing thing was so routine they were able to park it right back home at the launch facility.

Anyway we were driving down what felt like a long road and turning left as the road curved and we were in fact going into this place and when the car stopped I got out and some people with forms came up to me to explain the forms and for me to sign them. I then read them of course as you would, then signed them and they ushered me to a room where I could change, then off to an elevator and I got in and as it went up nerves and butterflies in my stomach. At the top of the elevator standing there in the walkway was my redhead in a flight suit we were going to the Moon for a holiday at a resort.

then I woke up

I was on the SNW Enterprise looking for Captain Pike to tell him everyone else had disappeared. I found him on the bridge only to realize he was the one who did that. Then I woke up - right as he was going to kiss me.

I was dreaming that I was back on the base again. I was walking on the tarmac when I noticed the short captain I used to work for walking on my left with a lot of other officers right behind him. I knew that we were going to one of those gawdawful meetings where I was the only female and the men all talked in stupid acronyms and laughed at things I didn't think were the least bit funny. I decided to veer off and not attend another useless meeting. I got away and went to meet up with friends. Happy ending to a stupid dream.

Nothing too exciting in my latest dream. Just going for a walk, the day is a bit overcast, and the ground is a little wet from some overnight rain. And the walkways have tons of slugs everywhere. :barf2:

Just before the 4.5 magnitude earthquake in the Bay Area a few nights ago, I woke up from a work-related dream. It wasn't disturbing, but I found it weird.

There was some event at our company, and I was in a booth with my boss and a few other employees. One was being given some award or recognition, but the GM said the employee should be dismissed, not fired, just sent away.

After that, as it often happens in a group setting in real life, my boss put me on the spot by asking me to get up and make a speech. 🙄Since we were in a booth, I could only address the audience of employees in front of us. Then I started to talk tentatively, not treally knowing where to start, while many in the audience applauded and cheered. Someone else was talking behind me, so I felt distracted, and then I woke up.

Moments later, my room started to sway. It was a strong jolt.

Monday night I dreamed I was helping a friend give birth but instead of encouraging her to push, I was pushing on her belly as hard as I could. Weird.
