I've had enough!

I've never had a canker sore in my life but my sister gets them quite often and I feel for you blablover5.
Good luck with the Mayo Clinic.:techman:

I'll help you raid the place. I don't get them often, and I'm not sure why I get them (my diet has never really changed much), but when they do show up, it is absolute hell!

I think we need a chant, something catchy.

Like "Give us a cure or we cut your head off!" only more catchy.

We'll need a keg of coffee! And possibly some hot firemen to um put out the fires we start?

Sounds like a plan!

I say we stop this madness. Let's throw eggs at them!
Eggs? Why not go all out? Launch the Pomeranians, I say!

*winds up the trusty trebuchet*

That's not funny - I just lost a pomeranian!

I know - way to put a dampener on the thread. I tell you what - you leave the pomeranians alone and I'll throw in some cats.

Let's steal...borrow one from La Barra Brava, then...
¡Vamos,
Vamos blablover5!
¡¡Esta noche,
Tenemos que
curar!!

I've had stress-related cankers about a half-dozen times. A doctor I know suggested that I eat raw potatoes. I tried it, and it does seem to make them resolve more quickly.

They're not contagious, because they're not bacterial or viral, but doctors do advise you not to kiss because bacteria from another person's mouth can get in the open sore and cause an infection. ;)

Mmmm... sexy!

I used to get these a lot as a kid and a teen. What worked best was iodine. You know the kind that sells in tiny bottles with the skull and cross bones on it warning "do NOT take orally"? Well, you can take it orally. Put one drop directly on the sore. It'll hurt like a mother fucker for 10 seconds, then become numb, then go away in a couple days if you reapply the iodine once or twice a day. Iodized salt will also help a lot. Cover it with salt and deal with the stinging until the salt dissolves.

I get them once in awhile, but now that you mention it, its actually been awhile.

I always found that swishing my mouth out with a cup of warm salt water cleared them up pretty fast.

Yuck, the cure is worse than the curse. Almost.

I love potatoes as long as they are cooked. I'm the notorious potato cooker.

I was canker-sore free for nearly six months...until fairly recently. The vile things have returned.
