What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

This.

When the Borg were shown to be the villians of Picard season 3, the reveal should have been accompanied by the sound of a balloon deflating.
I'll never forget that one interview with Rene Echevarria on the TNG blu-rays where he point-blank said they routinely said no to freelance pitches where Alien A and Alien B team up to be a new evil force.

It didn't matter. They told me the characters that I had spent 1.5 seasons watching weren't important. It showed how little faith they have in anything that might expand the fanbase.
Oh, don't get me wrong, they did the new characters from season 1 dirty because they couldn't afford the additional overhead from the legacy cast. I just recognize the story... slight though it was... could be slightly more compelling in a tighter format.

I understand. I was just continuing my rant against CBS Trek.

The use of the Borg after 3 seasons of various Borg show and utter lack of forward momentum in terms of threats. It showed that there is a stuck nature of Trek stories to appeal to the lowest common denominator of fan to ensure they will not look away. It's like playing the same ten songs on the radio to ensure people don't skip past due to something unfamiliar.
The fact I even had to type that phrase shows how lost our species has become in recent years.
Right... because media never shows aliens eating things not traditionally considered food... :shifty:

Picard Season 2 as one streaming movie and without the Jurati Borg-eating-car batteries garbage would have been a merciful condensation of the season's story arc into one digestible film, so even if that sucked, too, it would have been over in under two hours.

I've watched every season of Trek at least twice, except for PIC3. That's how bad it is.

I think it is easier for me to count the number of CBS Trek seasons that I actually finished...

  • Discovery season one and two.
  • Lower Decks season one and two.
  • Picard season one.
  • Strange New Worlds season one.
