Can you spot which character they included twice?😉
Maul series. Awesome.

I imagine they will as I can't see the story being concluded anywhere else.
Apparently this show picks up about a year after RotS (7 or 9 ish years before Solo), so unless there's a sizable time jump, that thread will have to stay loose for now.

I don’t know how I feel about a Maul series. There comes a point where an interesting and mysterious character becomes boring. Boba Fett comes to mind.
It will also be an animated horror series. Will it be R Rated?

Maul has always has WAY more going on than Boba (and I liked the Boba show!), and as such I think he can support his own show.
Plus this is an aspect of his story that people have been clamouring for ever since 'Twilight of the Apprentice', then 'Solo', and finally getting the Siege of Mandalore arc.

That said, I wouldn't go into thing only expected (or wanting) a dot connecting exercise. LFA has proven that they don't go into this kind of thing unless they actually have a story to tell. In this case it seems Maul is going to be taking on an apprentice, which is interesting in so many ways. If nothing else it gives us a new candidate besides Qi'ra for the "who stranded him on Malachor" betting pool.

I’ll be honest and say I have rolled my eyes through much of Maul’s post-TPM arc. I did like his arc for the most part in Rebels and of course The Siege of Mandalore was fantastic. But most of his Clone Wars arc left me cold. And his brief appearance in Solo? Meh. Him igniting his lightsaber was as fangasmically awful as the Vader hallway scene in Rogue One. (Yes, I know I’m in the minority on the Vader scene.)

I think it will be a long while before we get R rated Star Wars content. Even Andor which skewers towards a more mature audience than the rest of the franchise doesn't do anything more severe than a PG-13. Regardless, the Maul show will be animated, which will definitely stick to the franchise's traditional family friendly fare.

I really hope they never go for an 18 certificate Star Wars anything. Star Wars violence has always pushed things about as far as they can go without being gratuitous, and I can't imagine swear words or nudity would improve anything either. Honestly leaning in that direction was one of the things that repulsed me about the later EU book lines.

Star Wars works best when it's at least accessible to everyone. Andor may very well bore the younger members of the audience, but there's at least nothing there that they shouldn't be exposed to.

I feel like his TCW stuff was some of the best material that show did. ( Full disclosure, though, I still haven't seen all of TCW. )

I think my issue with Maul is that I always had a hard time with someone coming back from being bisected, regardless if you have Sith or witch magic helping it along. If Lucas wanted to use Maul later, he should have kept him alive in TPM. I realize that would have made the PT different, but maybe that's a good thing.

There’s a Star Wars detours stormtrooper bottom right

Agreed.

And agreed. The only reason why I tolerate the Maul return is the Twin Suns duel is so amazingly good.

And even then the witch magic came many years later, so it still doesn't explain how he survived in the moment. ( Unless he had been 'pre-magicked' at some point before TPM? ) One possible excuse is that he was an alien and we don't really know anything about his species' biology.
If Lucas wanted to use Maul later, he should have kept him alive in TPM.
Oh yeah, he definitely changed his mind along the way. He's even said, iirc, that the bisection was to make it clear to the viewer that he was dead. In fact, Savage seems somewhat obviously to have been conceived as a Maul replacement before Lucas let them know they could use Maul himself.
