Hire them! Get them in front of some labtops and then he can go just lay down on a couch and think of cool things he would like to see done in Star Wars. While also taking pitch meetings by the best creators in the business. Invite Lucas over to even get his insights but for the love of GOD don't let him write any scripts.

Heck no to Filoni, IMHO - especially if Ahsoka S2 turns out as badly as S1. I think Ronald D. Moore might be a strong pick, though he's probably contractually tied up with Apple's For All Mankind and its upcoming spinoff.
My personal nomination, then, would be the spouse team Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen, who worked wonders with all kinds of creative restrictions and ever-tightening budgets as the showrunners of Agents of SHIELD. Legends of Tomorrow producers and writers Marc Guggenheim and/or Sarah Schechter might also be good picks.
Ideally, the next Lucasfilm president should try developing some new adventure properties. Not everything they do should necessarily be just more Star Wars, forever. That said, when it comes to Star Wars, there should be a more coherent vision, with more linear storytelling, (i.e., less jumping around in the timeline), and a stronger focus on consistent characters. I don't think doing two movies about the early days of two new Jedi orders in wildly different time periods (the James Mangold Dawn of the Jedi and Rey's New Jedi Order movies) is the way to go. As for Ahsoka, unless S2 of her show lights the world on fire, I don't see her as a promising star of a Mando and Friends team-up movie.

I think there's some confusion as to what the President of the company does. As far as I know it's not a creative position, it's pretty much just a business one, so a person's creative credits or skill have absolutely no impact on their ability to do the job, and they will have no real impact on the movies or shows beyond possibly giving final approval on them after the stories and everything are developed by other people. The Chief Creative Officer is the one in charge the development on the shows and movies, and that's Dave Filoni, not Kathleen Kennedy. Not that any of this is going change anything for the sexist asshole idiots who are celebrating right now.
I want this, no I'm not joking, I'm 100% serious here. One of my long time dreams has been Star Trek and Star War musicals, and we got one now, so now it's time for the other. I would also say DC and Marvel musicals too, but they've tried that twice and neither did very well, although from what it says on Wikipedia the stage version of It's A Bird... It's a Plane... It's Superman was good, just not enough people went to see it.
