Professionals in the industry tend to use the word to mean any revival of a dormant property regardless of continuity; it's only laypeople who have the impression that it's exclusive to reinventions (and are oddly prescriptivist about the "correct" usage of a slang metaphor that's only been in public usage for about 20 years).

I was corresponding with a Turkish friend and he said that there might not be anyone in the old show except for 'Buffy' and if it happens 'Willow'. It makes sense. I think the name might be different too.

So season one of The Slayer will only feature Buffy for the most part and almost none of the other regulars. Fans will have to wait until season three for the big "Buffy season eight" reunion.

I'm thinking of making a show more like Cobra Kai than Picard. But it's much more likely to take just Buffy and Willow and make a show with a completely new cast that will last 3 or 6 seasons.

I'm pretty excited about this. I'm very curious how they will address the end of Angel, whether it will be expositioned away or whether they'll still be dealing with the fallout.

Also I'm wondering how they'll deal with the abundance of slayers in the world now. No more, "Every generation, there is one girl". Nope, there's an army of girls. They can say the slayers are strategically spread out and not all of them actively fight evil, but if there's a world ending threat they should be able to call in the cavalry.

As for Spike and Angel's ages. Look, they found excuses to make Data look older, they can do it with vampires too. Maybe they got burned up by the dragon's fire in their tangle with Wolfram & Hart and that's how they healed.

Robin is the son of a Slayer as well, so if he marries Buffy, that would be quite understandable.

I really can't see the end of Angle having any impact on this, this is a Buffy revival not an Angel one, so I have a feeling to stick to stuff from Buffy only, at least in the beginning. They're going to want to go with a fairly fresh start and not get too deep into things that probably aren't going to effect this series directly.
Hell, at this point we don't even know if anyone else from the original series will even be on this yet.

Even if she is Buffy's daughter, it is more likely that Buffy will train someone else rather than the girl. It is also possible that the girl does not know about vampires, slayers and witches. It is also possible that Buffy will give up on being a slayer.

'BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER' sequel series rumors

1. Buffy is the slayer's watcher.

2. She's a school guidance counselor.

3. Monster of the week formats/big bad.

4. Willow and a potential daughter will be involved.

These are just rumors. But a Turkish friend of mine said that Willow could return as Evil. Because Evil Willow is the most shared meme about the series on social media, that's why.
