Pelia and Akharin

Pelia could barely do math as of the 21st century though. So her science and tech knowhow leading her to be an engineer was accumulated in the latter 2 centuries of her life.
What is the reference for no math in the 21st century? Could it just be protective camouflage?

Hard to believe over ~~3 millenia, she did not have a wide range of knowledge of arts and sciences. Maybe not cutting edge engineering?

Unless long-lived humanoids have some sort of radar that seeks out other long-lived humanoids, there’s no reason to think that they would have ever met.

It's unlikely that Pelia and Flint have met. Even Earth is a big place, and as both of them have extensive experience in concealing their identities, they probably wouldn't recognize each other anyway.

And no, I don't think Flint is a Lanthanite like Pelia. He doesn't have the accent. :D

Why didn't they just make Pelia an El-Aurian? Now we have at least 2 races of long lived aliens hiding out on Earth long before First Contact.

My recollection is Pelia's people are native to Earth. I think Guinan is the only El-Aurian on Earth. so not a race, just an individual.

Pelia's group of Lanthanites choose to live on Earth. But they aren't native to Earth.

It does help that the Lanthanite species blends in perfectly with Humans.

Lanthanites Physiology were almost indistinguishable from Humans.

Also, her species life-span is VERY LONG.

In 2022, Pelia claimed that she hadn't taken a math class "since Pythagoras made the crap up".

Assuming she isn't lying, her species can EASILY live in the 4-digit (#,###) amount of years with no problem.

Hell we don't know if her species can live onto 5-digits or beyond, the range of how old she can be is pretty insane.

Picard and others in Trek keep saying that "records of the late 20th/early 21st century are fragmented" (or something along those lines. Picard says it as recently as Season 2 of Picard. Spock says something along those lines as far back as Space Seed.

Why does no one just ask Pelia about life in those times?

How many people know about Pelia?

Obviously, IRL she was a newly created character.

But even within StarFleet, only so many people would know about her.

But the Historians would ask her opinion on things, but she only provides a single view point into a time frame.

She obviously isn't "All Knowing". She might have a few trinkets / souveniers from that era, but at best, she's more of a PoV person as a single source.

Hardly definitive evidence of the general prevailing trends of that time.

And given what she did in the past and wasn't technically proficient until fairly recently by Human Time Frame standards, there is only so much you can gleam from her past.

She would however be great as a "Time Travel Guide" should she live into the 26th century & beyond.

She would have the ability to talk about where to go if she traveled back to where she lived in the past and went in under cover.

Pelia's basically a kid compared to 50,000 plus year old Bele of 'Let that be your last battlefield'
