How Disney/Lucasfilm could bring Indiana Jones back

Franchise? It's just one film.
There have also been 4 games, which is the core part of the franchise, 2 novels if we count the novelization of the movie, and at least one comic book miniseries. I'm a huge fan of the games, and I really enjoyed the movie.
and Ke Huy Quan is the right age to set it right after Dial. You'd have to sell it on Ke Huy Quan's star power alone, and we aren't there yet. It might be a good idea not to point out it's in the same universe, make it a surprise to the casual audience.
Ke Huy Quan has his first big movie starring role coming out next year, so if that's a big enough hit that could raise his profile a bit more.
Chiapet LaBeefyboof was well-liked back in the 2010s day, but he couldn't salvage THE CRYSTAL SKULL.

If you want SIX billion, have Tom Cruise as Henry Jones III. The problem is, nobody is allowed to share over-the-title-billing with The Running Stuntman anymore.

But either way, start with a non-rehashed story.
I don't know, unless they jump forward quite a bit Cruise seems a bit old to be Indiana's son.

Plus just as many spin-offs and web games too. Lost Legacy was great, but I never played any of the Uncharted PlayStation Vita games or web versions.

I still need to play Lost Legacy, Chloe is one of my favorite characters, but I just never got around to playing it.

There's this guy called Chris Pratt that younguns seem to like. Make him the son of Indy. There disney. Just made you a billion. Boom.

I think his star has dimmed some, after the last couple of years.

It's a video game movie? I had no idea. Literally, my only interest are the two male leads: Mark Wahlberg and Tom Holland. I love that they got paired up for this.

This is the future...

Film history shows that in disaster movies like EARTHQUAKE or INDIANA JONES AND THE SIXTH SHAMELESS CASHGRAB, actors playing dads are practically mere minutes older than their children.

But not pairing Cruise and Ford whatever the billing probably loses even more money than they'd have to spend to do it. Cruise used to pair up with famous, older veterans semi-regularly, but now it's at best his meeting a celebrity guest cameo a la Anthony Hopkins, Max Von Sydow or the Mummy. As Cruise gets more wrinkly and unstunty, he'll hopefully reconsider taking second billing to Ford, Hanks, Denzel or Cyndi Lauper while returning to worthier projects.
