Re: Trip & T'Pol: The Good That They Do

Nice pics. I loved Minefield too. They worked so well together. Not only in this ep, but all the rest. They were a team, which is why it hurt when they were separated. Can't separate the team.

Re: Trip & T'Pol: The Good That They Do

Hey, boushh, I just stumbled across your T/T tribute video "A Message" on youtube and it is AWESOME. To anyone who hasn't seen it yet--though I'm guessing that I'm late to the game and all you hardcore T/T fans have already checked it out--you have to watch it. (If I had the technical know-how, I'd embed a link to it here, but I'm dumb, so I can't.)

Generally, I'm not a fan of tribute videos set to music because they tend to be incredibly cheesy (crap-pop ballads, WAY too much slow mo) and badly edited, but this video is fantastic. The editing is awesome, the T/T scenes are great and were obviously carefully chosen, and the song you picked was perfect. And it ends with that beautiful final scene from Terra Prime (the very VERY final scene of Enterprise, as we all know)--it's one of the handful of times that Trek has ever made me cry. (I think Connor Trinneer is solely responsible for like 3 out of the 5 times Trek has ever made me cry.)

boushh, this video must have taken a lot of time and extra-loving care to make--thanks for putting in the effort and sharing it with your fellow T/T fans.

Re: Trip & T'Pol: The Good That They Do

Boushh's video A Message is a wonderful Video I saved it on my computer to watch more than once it's a pretty powerful video for Trip & T'Pol fans.

Re: Trip & T'Pol: The Good That They Do

Here's the link to "A Message" on boushh's website. You can save the video from there--and it's well worth saving! :D You'll find other videos and avatars (all wonderful) over there too. Get thee hither!

Oh-- and here's the youtube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vbv-q2e5iOg

boushh honey, how'd you get it to look so damn good on youtube?! Inquiring vidders wanna know!

Re: Trip & T'Pol: The Good That They Do

Welcome, jhp. :) Thanks for the lovely comments. I usually try to make videos that work for the subject in question and with songs that work for me. That's the goal anyway. :) This one took about a month to make, which for me is pretty fast. I was proud that I finished it in that time frame. I usually get stuck and have it take forever to finish a video. I had some good betas from this board that helped out with their critiquing, including HR. :) And of course T/T were a definite inspiration. :)

HR: That youtube link was uploaded by someone else, but I think the one that I uploaded looks about the same. The one I uploaded is here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QE-HePGODxk I think the quality of the original material is probably good enough that the youtube versions end up looking less crappy. I just think it looks too dark, and I didn't feel like loading it in a program and brightening it up just for youtube. :)

Re: Trip & T'Pol: The Good That They Do

^ A wonderful video there, boushh! Almost brings tears to my eyes. Man, that image of Trip breaking down at the end of "Terra Prime" ... that always makes me sad. Just reminds me of how much I miss Enterprise. :(

ETA: Just out of curiousity: When and where did Connor say that "it was awesome"?

Glad you liked it!! :) CT saw it at a convention when they played it before his talk, and when they brought him up on stage he said it was awesome... he also joked about me having gotten all of the snogging scenes in. I didn't quite get them all in, but I didn't tell him that. ;) Then he talked about the filming of that last scene in Terra Prime, so if anything we got a nice story out of it. :) I was of course on Cloud 9. :D Oh and you asked about when: last July.

Re: Trip & T'Pol: The Good That They Do

I still pretty much have to watch it at least twice each time I see it. :)

Ah, thanks for the reply. Connor was right: The video is awesome! And it certainly did feel like you got all of the snogging scenes in it. What I find so nice about the clip is that it adds to the impression that the T/T romance was really an ongoing theme of the series and not merely an afterthought. For one thing, I never noticed that T'Pol leered at Trip that often! Also, I must point out the excellent choice of music. I'm not a great Coldplay fan, but this song is just dead-on.

So, thank you again for the video. When do we get the next one? :D

Wow, thanks! I really appreciate the comments. :) And yeah you have to love the looks she'd give him every now and then... and vice versa. And I like it when non-Coldplay fans like this video. :D It's always one of those things that a vidder will worry about. Is this song not something people want to hear, so it's good to know that it works for people that wouldn't normally listen to that music.

As for the snogging... I didn't use the MU kiss so there is one that is missing. It obviously wouldn't have made any sense in the video but still... ;) And yeah, I tried to use some of the early stuff that had some sort of significance to the characters and that also left an impression on me at the time. Also, worthy of note is that most of this video involves T/T clothed and interacting. It wasn't all just neuropressure and decon scenes. Fine I used the shower dream sequence, but that was my one big use of anything like that (I had to do it. It just fit in that spot and it was one of the first things that was in my head.), and the rest of it was just them, communicating, miscommunicating, flirting, romancing, and having more than their share of tragic moments. CT and JB also made the most of what was given to them. IMHO, they'd have some OK material and they'd turn it into something brilliant. Their performances are a lot of fun to play with. :)

So, thank you again for the video. When do we get the next one? :D

One day I will get my rear end in gear and make another one. :) Maybe soon. RL has been a bit of a pain.

CX: Glad to know it still has rewatch value for you after all this time. :)

OK, so vidders plug your T/T videos or recommend some... I know a few of you have 'em to share. ;)

Re: Trip & T'Pol: The Good That They Do

Eh, I pretty much just have the one. I'd like to make a few more, but it's kind of like with writing, I just can't seem to get around to it. :(

Re: Trip & T'Pol: The Good That They Do

I am still angry to this day about TATV this ship had everything and they TPTB trashed it for no good reason.

Interestingly, there is similar venting going on regarding the Thing over at HoT. Must be something in the air this week. :vulcan: But no matter. Barclay was drunk, kids. That holoprogram was a crock. :p

Here, lemme distract you with the Vulcan equivalent of a Cheshire cat smile:

OK, so vidders plug your T/T videos or recommend some... I know a few of you have 'em to share. ;)

For starters, I recommend anything by MommyJ246, aka credentials. She has put a bunch of her videos up on YouTube here, including the first Enterprise music video I ever watched, "Behind Blue Eyes" (helped turn me into a Trip/T'Pol shipper) and her terrific Home spoof "Polly's Mom".

Also, there are Ligeia's videos, which are harder to come by, since her site is no longer up. "Windmills" is my favorite of her videos; it's more of a Big Three vid than T/T, but it's great, and it's Toad the Wet Sprocket, 'nuff said. Here it is for download, if you have a fast connection or a lot of time (it's 49 MB).

I finally took a whirl at the YouTube experience and put up one of my Trip/T'Pol videos, "Epiphany". It came out a little dark, like boushh's. Is a puzzlement. :vulcan: But I'm lucky I figured out how to get it up there at all, LOL. Enjoy. :)

Agreed. It was his idea of an April Fool's joke... ;)

Re: Trip & T'Pol: The Good That They Do

I have to admit I miss Enterprise and wish we could've had seven season if it hadn't been canceled. Behind Blue eyes is a powerful video. My favorite videos by Ligeia is Oceano and Windmills. It seems like forever before kobayashi Maru is coming out in August before we fingd out what happens with trip & T'Pol's continuing story left off in TGTMD.

'Windmills' is my all time fave video, Ligeia's vids are all good, but somehow this one times the pictures so beautifully with the track. I'm sorry to hear her site is down, there were some excellent stories there too.
I love 'Epiphany' HR, again the timing is excellent, and the music is so dramatic. I think you said it was a sound track?
Thanks to you and boushh and mommyj and all video creators - you make the music vids we fans want to see! :techman:

Thank you! Yes, the music is from the soundtrack to "The Island" by Steve Jablonsky. I have ideas for several more Ent videos I'd like to make to soundtrack music, but I haven't had the time. I've been using my spare minutes to work on Redivivus...I'd like to finish that one before I die.

a drunken barclay or it was a plot by associates of pressman to discredit riker both work for me
;)

actually considering how riker seemed to feel about all the time barclay spent in the holodeck i could see barclay casting riker as someone who spent a lot of time in several visits to the holodeck to play act (instead of working out) .

i need to visit hot soon.
