FWIW, do you guys have a favorite/opinion of the best season of other series? I think it is fine to not have a clear favorite. I know I don't for most of them.

For me?
TOS: S1 easily.
TNG: Unsure. 3-6 for sure.
DS9: S6 despite the ending.
VOY: Unsure. S4 or S5 probably.
ENT: S4. S3 close.
DISCO: S1 or S4. S1 for the first half (or S2) and S4 for the ending.
PIC: S3 for sure.
LD: tough to say. Probably S2.
SNW: liked them both a lot. Tough call.

I haven't seen every episode of SNW or LD, TAS is really TOS Season 4, and PRO has technically only aired one season.

Some of these are tough calls, but I had to go with my gut.

With VOY and ENT, it wasn't even close: Season 4 was the best for both series. With the rest of the series, they all had at least one other season that gave my ultimate choice some stiff competition.

TNG - season 3 is damn close... but season 4 takes the top spot.

DS9 - season 4... closest thing to a perfect season the franchise ever got. Season 5 is a VERY close second.

VOY - season 5 is a close second place, but season 4 was the best.

ENT - season 4.

DISCO - seasons 1 and 2 were disasters (Pike was the only saving grace of season 2). Season 3 had a better flow, but the reason for The Burn was horrible. Season 4 had the best ending, but it just meandered so badly in the middle. Season 3 edges out the win here.

PICARD - season 3, easily.

LDS - tough call, because they are all so good. Each season gets better than the last, which is a difficult thing to keep doing. Season 3 is so close because every episode has some DS9 callback AND they had an entire episode there... but season 4 edges out as the best.

PRO - only one season so far, so unfair to say. However, no bad episodes yet, so they are looking solid regardless.

SNW - tough call, because both have been excellent. I reluctantly say season 1, but only because season 2 has the only episode in the franchise I will never rewatch.

I don't know if I can answer this since I'm not as hardcore a Trekkie and only realized I've only seen the last few seasons of TNG.
But:
- Voyager - Seasons 4/Season 5 (IMO golden seasons for Voyager).
- DS9: Season 5
- Picard: Season 3
- Lower Decks: Season 3 and 4
- Strange New World: Season 1

I don't really think there's a correlation between what we think are the best seasons of other series and what we think is the best season of PIC.

The best I can think of with the seasons I chose were they were constantly building and had a momentum to them.

TOS: Season 1 (both Gene Roddenberry and Gene L Coon as showrunners... season 2 suffers from having all the John Meredith Lucas episodes cluster at the end)
TAS: Season 1, but that's by a technicality
TNG: Season 3 (but my second place goes to season 6, not season 4)
DS9: Season 4 (the "weakest" episode -- "Rules of Engagement" is way above mediocre)
VGR: Season 4 (Jeri Taylor and Brannon Braga balance each other well here)
ENT: Season 4
DISCOVERY: Season 1 (look, it's a deeply flawed series all around, but there's still enough of the original Bryan Fuller material + people lingering around to make it at least interesting viewing if you, yes, treat it as an alt universe)
STLD: Season 3 (only two weak episodes, followed by season 2 with three weak episodes, while season 4 was a surprising plunge in quality to be honest)
SNW: I couldn't make it through season 1 and find the series largely unwatchable

I did not grow up with TNG and consider S3 the best. Or the least worst. Though I do not despise Michael Chabon's efforts. He tried to do something different and it didn't really gel.

I loved S3 but I also enjoyed S1 and S2.

DS9: S3 through S5 is gold to me.
VOY: S4
ENT: S4. For the longest time, my favourite was S3, but I’ve changed by mind. That said, I think S4, as much as its lauded as the one of the best seasons of Star Trek ever, could have been much better than it was.
DIS: S3. It should be S4, but the season premiere ticked me off so much I did not watch the season for months.
PIC: S1
LD: Tied. I like them all

I was born in 1979, so I grew up with TNG even though it wasn't my favorite. I loved the TOS Movies and went to see TUC in the theater three times. Technically I think Season 3 is the best season of PIC, but it's a photo-finish with Season 1.

So, strictly speaking, yes, the first poll option applies to me, so that's how I voted: I grew up with TNG and consider S3 the best.

Totally agree!

I've seen every Star Trek movie in the theater from TFF on (I wasn't a fan yet when TFF was released, but I was taken to the theater to see it). Then I saw TMP in a theater 2019, TWOK in a theater in 2010 and 2017, and TVH in a theater in 2012. If they have a 40th Anniversary special release of TSFS, I'll have closed the gap!

But back to reality: Picard in general is far less like TNG than other Trek shows. It focuses on Picard of course and I genuinely think at one time we were barely going to see ships or uniforms. Its themes are very personal and serialized.

It is odd to see people clamor over season 3 when it rarely feels like TNG at all. Much darker, literally and figuratively and other things I've mentioned before. The darker parts in season 1 had more meaning though.

All three work together to create a nice bookend of meaning too. I believe @Lord Garth noted this, and I quite agree with him.

Season 2 and 4 of Discovery are in a dead heat for me. I went with 2. Season 3 of TNG is damn good, I just felt it had a couple of weaker episodes than 4. Season 1 of TOS is also damn good.
