What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

I rewatched and loved SNWs The Serene Squall last night, great episode but....

...I'd forgotten the 'pirate' costumes were bloody awful, really took me out of the story:lol: It was as if they'd been discovered in a box labelled 'Generic Baddie Outfits From The 90s That Berman Thinks Are Great'.

Ditto for the crap haircuts too. I'm sure not every future space pirate will want to have long punky hair everywhere, will they?

Captain Angel did redeem the episode though, I must say.

The chemistry between cast members in SNW is enjoyable to watch, even if the costumes are not always great!
Your box label name is hilarious; I was trying to come up with an acronym...no dice!

Definitely. And I thought it was an unusually lazy misstep for a show which seems, to me anyway, to nail every aspect of its production.

Now you have ME interested!
Though I do not wish to add another Streaming Service, I could also check out Dune...hmmm

I'd actually say it's worth paying for one more month just to see it.

Appreciate the suggestion. Pretty good cast list... I've always loved Christopher Walken, and Dichen Lachman was outstanding in DOLLHOUSE. John Turturro is also someone who's been really good any time I see him.

If I do have time after TED LASSO, I'll check it out. If not, I will add SEVERANCE to the watch list when FOUNDATION and FOR ALL MANKIND return. By then, they will likely have a second season up. (Assuming I am able to add Apple TV for a month at that point... I never count on having the same funds in the future.)

In honor of the show's 22nd anniversary tonight here's a controversial opinion. This isn't a bad theme song.

Controversial Opinion:

Faith of the Heart is by far the greatest Star Trek theme.

The greatest that ever was or will be.

Full disclosure, I've never seen a single episode of MacGyver, including this one, but from a very brief Google search, it seems to have been a dream induced by being knocked out.

I guess that's just about the only way they could do it.

The animated comedy, Archer, spends quite a few seasons spoofing the tropes of Spy-Fi, but it manages to genre hop through several genres in later seasons by putting its lead character in a coma.

That works I guess though because the show is essentially ridiculous and clearly not grounded in any sort of reality to begin with.
