Thats not how canon works.I watched a few episodes of that show. Its totally a farce. How can something like even exist after tng? Idiotic. I thought these were going to be different versions of the lower deck characters not coming straight from the cartoon and actuallt acknowledging it. Also boimer pretty much knows the snw world looks more real. So he knows his world looks like a cartoon. Come on man. How does it even fit in any previous trek canon?
You’re gonna LOVE Starfleet Academy, then. During “The Ready Room” Wil Wheaton mentioned and Tawny Newsome confirmed that Tawny has joined the writing staff of Starfleet Academy.Boimler felt like Boimler, but something felt off about how Tawny portrayed Mariner. I don't know how to put it into words, but she didn't feel quite like Mariner. I don't know if it was the writing or what.

He's answering Beckett's original question, "How are you so excited for some random portal no one's ever heard of?" The statements between that and him answering are them arguing semantics.Anyone notice a weird cut or something in the teaser/intro?
Mariner says something like "It's like any other portal and we're just running scans."
Then Boimler says "Because it might do something".
It just feels like a line is missing, but I'm like on my 5th watch of the episode so maybe I've lost my mind. lol
True enough. Personally, I hope that it doesn’t… it sounds awful. But then again, I hated the idea of Star Trek: Prodigy, and it turned out to be pretty awesome. If it actually gets made.
Probably because she had to rein it in a bit in front of Pike and Uhura.
Right next to TAS and the literal devil being real.
Canon is the officoal body of work. It's officially there. Continuity is another question.
Looks like they're onboard Voyager. Or atleast another Intrepid class ship. Could also be the holodeck.
Because it has now never looked different.Fun episode. I maybe expected it to be more fun. I'm disappointed they didn't make any mention to the Enterprise looking different. Guess you can't joke about some things.
Wow. Literal much?TAS wasnt a futurama type show. LD is. Also they never had a crossover with another star trek show with a starfleet officer saying "oh yeah. Here is the period where we were two demensional." All i can figure is the lower decks crew are raging alcholics and those drinks boimer makes have them seeing delusions the whole series.
Wow. Literal much?
There's this thing called suspension of disbelief. Some people can only suspend so far before it becomes uncomfortable. I remember watching Ghosts of Illyria and having this weird moment, thinking "Jesus, that's just two grown men rolling around on the floor pretending." And then I took a breath and let it go. Surrendering to the absurd is a choice.I watched a few episodes of that show. Its totally a farce. How can something like even exist after tng? Idiotic. It was a joke. Like Boimler's line about how "real" the SNW characters looked.Well isnt that what they were going for?
Also Mariner has mellowed since S1, there's an actual growth arc. But she'll never be totally profesh despite her claims otherwise.Probably because she had to rein it in a bit in front of Pike and Uhura.

yeah....no.It's reaching a point where even Deadpool OS looking at them and saying, "Come on, you have to respect the fourth wall a little bit!"
