Too close to Picard Season 1.TMP could still happen in the Kelvin universe in a different manner.

It stands to reason that V'ger, having been set up by events much earlier than 2233, is on its way in the Kelvin timeline just as in the prime. But as you say, that doesn't mean we have to see it.Doesn’t mean we need to see it.
At this point I no longer care. I doubt another Star Trek movie will ever get made for the big screen.
I truly believe they are letting perfection get in the way of good. It took them 4 years to get ID out after 2009 and that was great, and fun for fans and nonfans. Yet, they couldn't sort stuff out and went through drafts after drafts. It's crazy to me and something tells me it's just an extreme reticence to spend money without a promise of making a ton of money. But Beyond did very well at the box office so I never understood the hesitance...

It failed to surpass ID's total to gross half a billion dollars, the way Paramount had really wanted it to.It "underperformed".

Yes.would you expect Kelvin Kirk to have everyone together in
Domestic gross was a bit less than that of 2009 movie, but it made a pile internationally.STID was the highest grossing ST movie?
I did not know that.
The gross for TWoK stands at $79 million. You're transposing digits, maybe. That's why TWOK was such a good investment back in the day when it cost 12$million and made 97$million.
Maybe it's inflation, but I took it straight from the wikipedia page for TWOK.The gross for TWoK stands at $79 million. You're transposing digits, maybe.
I think you'll find that's true for any film series -- prior to late 1990s / early 2000s, international numbers are not available. For Star Trek films, looks like international figures are reported from Insurrection (1998) onward.boxofficemojo strangely omits the international numbers.
