Spoilers The thing in bay 12

Geordi rebuilding piecing "his baby" all back together, within realistic means since he doesn't have the largest of support crews, with some areas not completed, battle "scars" and all, and getting parts from other ships, just gives it an authentic feel. And is very much in character. I love this. In proper Trek tradition, the chief engineer treating their beloved ship-- it's thoughtfully done.

It made me think of this line from Scotty in Relics:

She was also the first ship I ever served on as chief engineer. You know, I served aboard 11 ships; freighters, cruisers, starships... but this is the only one I think of, the only one I miss.

I wasn't wild about this episode, but I don't have any problems with this part of it. We all knew it was coming, and it was beautifully done.

Love how Geordi decided to remove all the Generations side panels and steps. He even took away Worf's chair.

Majels voice clip is from Chain of Command I think, when Jellicoe returns the Enterprise to Picard
That's what I thought too. It might be a couple of different clips combined.

I really wish she didn't have that grey metal look that all the new ships seem to sport, I miss the duck egg blue.
I liked everything else.

If there was ever a moment when I needed to reconnect to 9 year old me watching TNG before bed…it’s this.
thank you Terry Matalas for giving this 37 year old a moment of warm nostalgia
19-26 year old me, but just as impactful. TNG was my Star Trek.

She's as beautiful as the day we lost her. And hearing Majel Barrett's voice was the cherry on top. I'm home.

I feel like despite the skeleton crew, this is actually ideal and everyone has a role aboard.
-Life Support for most of the ship won't be needed, so a lot of auxiliary power can be directed to weapons, shields, and engines.
-Geordi is a capable Pilot, alongside being an S-Tier Engineer for restoring the D.
-Data, still a walking supercomputer, can effectively run the rest of the ship's systems, and previously did it single-handedly.
-Dr. Crusher will be able to monitor everyone's health on the Bridge and perhaps develop a way to break the Borg's control.
-Worf's tactical experience against the Borg (multiple times) will be invaluable
-Deanna Troi's empathic abilities may be critical to reaching out to Vox.
-Will Riker. The man who saved Picard and stopped the Borg before, and probably knows some more anti-Borg tactics.
-Admiral/Captain Picard. Need I say more?

I did feel it was a bit lame that Beverly had nowhere to sit and just hung around at the back. That was always a problem with that bridge.

Yeah, that's one reason I would have been fine had the bridge been in Generations configuration, she could have been at one of those side stations.

While my opinions on the episode and season are mixed, I'll admit that seeing the Enterprise-D and her bridge did bring a tear to my eye. She looked good.

Since we never saw or heard of one with that name another possibility is that she was under construction and was never completed for reasons.

FWIW, the digital model of the E-D on this is based on the Generations repaint of the 6 footer. The lighting isn't great, but the primary hull *is* robins egg blue grey and has all the surface damage from "hot dropping" onto Veridian III.

The engineering hull from the Syracuse seems to be a little different....but its also from a different ship than the Enterprise D

Anyone got any nitpicks? I felt the ramps should be steeper and the aft upper section was too low.

Who am I kidding? They did an incredible job. I was honestly amazed.

The proportions are a little off, but not severely so. My headcanon is it is either the Generations bridge that Geordi genuinely did rebuild to get as close to the series bridge or just a "similar but not the exact same" bridge module from another Galaxy.

The Ramps are steeper and the dedication panel is a little higher than it should be, plus SPS has shrunk in stature due to being aged..and good for him, many are not so fortunate
