The family moved to GB during WW2 , Picard was born 400 years later in France. Season 2 explained nothing, since accents are not inherited. That was also explained, in Season 2.
Could explain why he looked “off” in his natural form. The changeling Raffi and Worf had was wounded.
Pretty sure there was a line about the family only moving back to France centuries later. The accent wasn't inherited, it was what his parents spoke. The family moved to GB during WW2 , Picard was born 400 years later in France. Season 2 explained nothing, since accents are not inherited.
Pretty sure they just redesigned the FX.Could explain why he looked “off” in his natural form.
Perhaps but they have been pretty good with the other stuff so far. There might be a reason for itPretty sure there was a line about the family only moving back to France centuries later. The accent wasn't inherited, it was what his parents spoke.
But that would require me rewatching Picard Season 2.

I didn't care for seasons 1 & 2 of Picard, but 3 episodes into the 3rd season, and the TNG vibe is back. I wish season 1 started out like this. Giving this episode 8/10.
Unless it was swept under the rug (and assuming the Enterprise-E was involved in the Dominion War), maybe the Founders discovered a lot of their losses came from two Jean-Luc Picards (one in the Federation, one being Shinzon in the Romulan fleet). Maybe they think being a "master strategist" is hereditary, and since Admiral Picard is retired, they're wanting to remove a potential thorn from their side in a reignited Dominion WarWhy would a Changling be after Jack Crusher, the son of Jean-Luc Picard, who may been only marginally involved in the Dominion War at best? It would make more sense if she went after Jake Sisko, the son of Benjamin Sisko, who really brought their actual defeat.
The force is strong in his family.… and Jack Crusher is smarter than all the bridge crew together.
I don't think it was out of line for what we previously saw of Changelings struggling due to having gone without rest for too long. The one in The Ship seemingly died from the effort. That changeling was uncharacteristically weak and/or incompetent though, a DS9 infiltrator would either have escaped easily or have killed his pursuers.
I'm not kidding when I say I thought it died because of Inertial Damper failure (which I believe Dax said happened.)I don't think it was out of line for what we previously saw of Changelings struggling due to having gone without rest for too long. The one in The Ship seemingly died from the effort.

Plus it seems like these Changelings haven't been able to link in a while, and definitely not with the Great Link. Raffi might not have been all that far off the mark after all when it came to thinking the dude was jonesing for something.
Did you feel a certain degree of pressure to fill in those blanks while working out that timeline between the last time we saw them and the creation of Jack?
MATALAS: We did, right? So, it comes up all the time. Does Jack’s age work how old Ed Speleers is? No. Ed Speleers is an amazing actor, and we all should look as good as Ed Speleers does. When we were in our 20s, we wish we looked as good as it does now. So we wanted Ed Speleers. The age doesn't work right. Does it make perfect sense exactly when she would have left the Enterprise 20-something years…? Did she go and work for Starfleet Medical from a deleted scene in [Star Trek: Nemesis]? It was a deleted scene. So we have to decide that that didn't exist, right?
Also, I believe Picard is technically 96. You know, the ideas of conception and contraception get brought up in the room, but then again, we're in the 25th century, is it even an issue? At some point, you have to let all this go and just let the story exist or not exist. I will say, personally, it is pretty frustrating for me to get pounded by those questions, or nitpicks, on Twitter. But again, Star Trek attracts science and mathematical inspection. It's going to attract people who love those details, but I don't think Star Trek ever really works well as a historical record. So at some point, you have to choose the story over the cataloging of a canon calendar.
You mean the guy who had at least 2 or 3 episodes of Ferengi coming after him and a film built around someone coming after him?Beverly's explanation needed to be GOOD. And it wasn't. That was a very weak excuse. Totally out of character. Picard has a target on his back? Please. Picard is the captain least likely to have anyone come after him ever. He's relatively chill. Unlike Kirk.
Probably my biggest miss so far.
