Spoilers Andor season one

Andor though is the lead. Plus it lets the audience know it is connected to the movie he was in. Rise of Rebellion is kind of general and could mean many things. I might have called it "Andor and Rebellion."

I think Andor wasn't so much Jaded as much as suffering from recent loss, whichi think will in deed be Bix, and perhaps a few others. Maybe his long lost sister might actually be alive? But an Imperial loyalist? Or killed just as they begin to reunite.

I look forward to the next season. am on the side of Mon Mothma's story being significant.

I didn't catch what she did until i read it here....but her husband makes it quite easy to "blame" all her discrepencies on his gambling, as he probably doesn't have pretty accurate records on what he lost.

her daughter's "sacrifice" is pretty willing, but that will be for Mon to let go of that relationship, as that is where her daughter has chosen to stand. We will see if she eventually sides with her mother (and maybe lose her life in the process), or if the relationship is what dies.
Given the way Mon’s daughter kept looking back at her, it could be that she was trying to make an attempt to bond with her over traditions from their homeworld.

But I found it to be a waste for Season One, because in no shape or form was Mon Mothma connected to Cassian.

There were some very solid connections. Mothma's relative participated in the Aldhani heist with Andor, and Luthen is also a solid link between them. It's fairly reasonable to expect that Mothma and Andor will be in direct contact or even flat out working together in S2.

i like this take on a star wars serie.... maybe we will see a little bit of The Force in season 2?
I dont really miss it that much but it is a part of this universe, not necessarily a full blown ninja
but it is a little strange if we dont get to see at least 1 character that got a hint of the Force next time around.

I don't see a massive need for it to be mentioned at all. Even if Fulcrum herself shows up (certainly not impossible, but doubtful for logistical reasons), it's not a given that the topic will be addressed. Season one has been tight as a drum. Not a line wasted, nor shot squandered. I can't imagine season two will be any different in that regard.

For me, the dilemma for Mon seems to be that whatever her daughter thinks she's willing to do right now, she's far too young to truly understand what she's getting into. Mon seems to have had a very orthodox Chandrilan upbringing and was similarly betrothed at a young age, only to become more enlightened/jaded about the whole thing later in life. So by allowing this to happen, she's potentially sacrificing her daughter's future happiness. That she's up for it is just a sick twist of the knife.

As for where this will go . . . well we know Mon will end up fleeing Coruscant mid-way through the next season (that's just math), so that's three or four episodes and at least two year long time-jumps for things to play out.

Honestly it could go either way. Children if high profile citizens disavowing, denouncing, and even reporting their own parents as enemies of the state is far from unheard of in fascistic totalitarian dictatorships. Indeed Leida may be the one to expose Mon and cause her to make her treasonous speech to the senate and flee the capital.
If so then the ISB and especially COMPNOR are going to want Leida kept very safe and able to give public statements and propaganda about how mentally unstable and deviant her mother has always been.

On the other hand the next few years could expose Leida to the very ugly truth about the Empire and what unquestioning submission to tradition and authority can bring. She may even end up running missions with Leia and Holdo.

She literally introduced him to Jyn in 'Rogue One'. That they will meet is already a foregone conclusion.

I wasn't making "points". I was commenting when the show included connections to the ST. And every time I cite one of those connections you blow up. You wouldn't by any chance be one of those people who wanted to see Disney ignore the ST, would you?

:guffaw:

COMPNOR has not been established in canon...

...yet.

So movies/shows with a title character cannot have co-leads? Is that what you are saying?

Some great examples already cited but in prequel terms there's also Better Call Saul which is a show about Kim, Mike, Gus and Nacho as much as it is about Jimmy.

Nah, that would have been much worse. Crummy writing that's much less tragic and realistic than this show has been throughout. Having a cheesy, rah-rah moment like that would have been completely at odds with the tone and sensibility of the show.

Yeah, it would have been terrible but, in my defence the reason I suspected was twofold.

A/she died off screen which is a hell of a red flag.

B/ It seemed an odd thing to hire Fiona Shaw and then drop her off screen without her having some important part to play.

Obviously re B there was a hell of a good reason to hire Shaw and she still had a hugely important part to play, so to paraphrase Obi Wan, I was right, from a certain point of view :p

BCS springs immediately to mind because it was so recent and such an amazingly good show.

But just think how much better it would have been without Nacho, Mike, Kim, Chuck, Howard, Lalo, Fring, etc. It would have been amazing. Just all Jimmy, all the time, in an empty room with no one else to talk to.

Damn, would have been genius.

Works for me. :)

According to this, it's been cited in various canon sources including Catalyst, Tarkin, and Aftermath: Life Debt.

Well, they can claim books are canon until the cows come home, but unless it's on-screen, it's still basically EU. Some "new canon" books have already been contradicted by live action.

Except . . . the series could have still solely focused on Jimmy without eliminating other speaking roles. As long as they have a strong connection to or play a role in his character arc.:D
