Spoilers Andor season one

Picard season 2 suffered for having too little story to spread over too many episodes, resulting in a lot of filler and side plots that go nowhere. However, there is much to like. Every scene shared by Patrick Stewart and John Delancey is pure gold. The Agnes character gets to shine in a way I never expected. And, at the end of the day, I was satisfied with the conclusion.
Season 2 of Picard wasn't as good as the last few seasons of Discovery, and it had some issues, but I enjoyed it.

I always rolled my eyes at Star Wars portraying the Rebellion in such a positive, romanticized view. That does not mean that their goal was not just. The French revolution is the reason why France is such a modern, human rights loving state, however the leaders of the French revolution, such as Robespierre, are disgusting, contemptible human beings. Mon Monthma, and Lucien are Robespierre.

I love it!

I wonder how many people are saying that NOW. And I wonder if they had felt the same before "Rogue One" and "Andor".

As a kid, probably into my 20s, maybe even early 30s, I looked on the Rebellion as something that had a certain amount of romanticism about it. But even before Rogue One, I started thinking, yeah, this was a group of people trying to save the galaxy and they had to do a lot of nasty things to get the job done. No way it was as much of a “group of freedom fighters”, much more a group of terrorists.

IIRC, Lucas himself actually said as much on the DVD commentary for AOTC.

Yeah, in Lucas' mind, the stormtroopers were clones. At least for a little while, anyway. He said he was "explaining" the origin of stormtroopers. Also, check action figure offerings from the early 2000s. Stormtroopers that had removable helmets had clone heads underneath.

There's also the whole thing with Jango hitting his head as he entered his ship in episode II which was a nod to the storm trooper doing that in episode IV (as a way of explaining why that happened).

During WWII, my grandfather assisted the Dutch resistance by helping them smuggle people who were in hiding from the Nazi's.
The Dutch resistance is seen by many people in the Netherlands as heroes, while ofcourse, to Nazi Germany, they were terrorists. Some of the actions taken by them caused harm to non-Nazi's as well. Ofcourse, during those years Dutch people would often be as angry towards the resistance as they would be towards the Nazi's. Their actions would either harm innocents at time or cause the Germans to hit down harder on the Dutch people. Same will be true for countries like France I assume.

It's a difficult discussion to have; when is someone a terrorist and when a freedom fighter? Their actions are the same, and in both their eyes, so are the goals. Do their victims decide? Does history in the end?

Just up to Narkina 5, and loving every second of Andor - with nary a dud episode whatsoever!

The music, the world(s) building, the characters - the oppressiveness hanging in the air, and the glimmers of hope, intrigue bursting through - I’m actually in awe again at what Tony Gilroy has done.

Andor edges out over The Mandalorian (which I also enjoyed immensely), and is the best, and most enjoyable SW I’ve watched in years.

And the Agent Wells thing went nowhere. I mean, okay, he ended up letting them go because he remembered some Vulcans had landed on Earth for a covert surveillance mission around the time of "Carbon Creek(ENT)" and one melded with him?

Yeah, what a waste.

The biggest waste was getting the actor and not having him play his Voyager character. The guy worked on a freaking timeship. He even knows Seven of Nine. The story potential basically writes itself. Instead they made him Fox Mulder for no reason.

Yep, they should have had Wells detect a devastating change in the flow of history and travel back in time to fix the alterations but then get stuck in first the 20th century and then the 21st. Wells should have recognized Picard the minute they first spoke.
