Spoilers Andor season one

We still have one episode to go this season. So far this show has an 11-0 record for solid episodes. Can't say any of the others have been that consistent, not even The Mandalorian.

I wouldn't agree with that score. I can think of at least three episodes I would gladly ditch just to tighten the writing. And I would have saved the arc regarding Mon Mothma's personal life for the following season, if it has anything to do with Cassian.

a TIE Boarding Shuttle! (No it wasn't a bomber, I checked!)
Ah, that makes a bit more sense. I had mistakenly thought that was a bomber and thought "what's the logic in sending a bomber out on a dog fight?" And then when Luthen destroyed it first, that reinforced my confusion, since there was a preventable loss if ever there was one.

But if it's a boarding shuttle that clears the matter up nicely.

My only complaint: There's no way Cassian's "hiding place" for his chest in the shower was so good that no one would have messed with it in the ensuing two months or so he was gone.

It should have been in a broken wall panel or something, not just sitting on a shelf, highly visible, above the shower.

That is all.

Thank goodness you don't have a TV show.

Curiously the show isn't bringing Bail into this at all, so I rather suspect Luthen doesn't know about him (yet.)

fter all, he has Ahsoka running his intelligence network which seems to be running parallel to Luthen's, and Bail has every reason to keep himself very much insulated, even from the likes of Mon Mothma. I'd always assumed that Bail had been Mon's silent partner in all this, but if that were the case then it'd be him she'd turn to to fix her books, not some shady Chandrillan moneylender. At this point I kinda suspect that Bail may be the one to come to Mon's rescue and bring her over to his little side of the rebellion when Luthen goes down (because of course he will.)

I figured that Mon's early line about "only three people in the galaxy know" was a veiled reference to Bail.

But I'm fine with him not showing up in this series until the very end (he should probably make an appearance at some point as Season 2 moves closer to the events of R1/ANH.) But I'd also be fine if he doesn't actually appear. The rebellion is big, after all.

I think Ahsoka needs to stay 100 light years away from this show. But I can't imagine that Gilroy will actually loop her in.

Hera, Chopper and the Ghost, on the other hand along with Kanan and Ezra....I can see them showing up in Season 2 since that crew's on the Imperial radars with increasing frequency beginning in 5 BBY.

I can't imagine it, though. I think Andor is carving out its own space in the SW universe and that it just won't make those kinds of connections. The only major characters besides Cassian who have returned are Saw and Mothma, who were already part of the Cassian/Rogue One family.

I truly hope we never see the likes of Vader, Ahsoka, the Ghost crew, etc. I could even skip Bail if that's where the story goes. Andor lives in a much cooler part of the galaxy than most of those dweebs and has created characters that are rich and compelling on their own.

I saw this pointed out, but it seems Luthen tricked them into increasing the tractor beam power, so the counter measures would be pulled even harder into the emitter.

we also got our closest look yet at a TIE Boarding Shuttle!
We also got a look of one as a hologram in TLJ.

Yeah I don't think we'll actually see any Rebels characters, the most I expect is Ezra's message from Rebels Season 1, Mon Mothma mentioned hearing it in Rebels. Maybe passing mention of Rebel activity in the Lothal system in ISB or Rebel meeting scenes.

If they show Yavin IV in Season 2 (which is possible Mon Mothma was there during part of the period Season 2 covers) maybe the Ghost in the background like in Rogue One.

I can't imagine we'll even see Ezra's message. The beauty of this show is that, by design, it's accessible to casual fans and has avoided pointless references to other parts of the lore. Start dropping in cameos and whatnot (even in the form of a message) and you ruin that.

In other news, it was revealed recently that Yavin will indeed appear in Season 2, but I hope it's at the near end of the run.

Indeed. SO much so that I actually suggested it to my mom who despises most things Star Wars, but likes heists, and action/adventure and drama. It's nice to have that to share with her, rather than much of the insular productions.

We know Dodanna was operating out of Yavin for a while as his group was named after the temple there. His group was the one the Y-wings the Ghost crew stole went. Those were also the Y-wings that Gold Squadron got and were used to escort Mon Mothma in her escape to Dantooine following her being declared a traitor to the Empire. The day the Rebel Alliance for declared.

While some might call thing cameos or fan service, remember that if it is needed for the plot, it should still be used.

If it is needed for the plot then it's not fan service. Fan service is there whether it serves the plot or not, and often times is more of a distraction to reassure the die hard fans that the production team did their homework to make it really Star Wars. Yes, fan service can be done well but it isn't my preference to build a story around. Andor, thus far, has managed to avoid many of those pitfalls, though it experiences other ones.

I think he will show up. They had Smits there for Obi-wan, so my guess they took advantage of that. And of course Rogue One. I remember reading somewhere when they announced Andor was being made that it was going to be easier because they already have the sets made from Rogue One and the actors lined up from the film also. Of course that not guaranteed for sure, but I like the odds of Bail showing up in this series.

I said "closest". Not "only".

Not this season, but next season is a distinct possibility. Mon Mothma's "defection" in a major part of her story and it'd be bizarre if they don't at least depict some version of it. If she's making her 'ghorman massacre' speech and being declared Imperial Enemy Number One at the end of one episode, and is just chilling on Dantooine at the start of the next, it would be rather jarring.
Of course they're not going to just remake that whole episode of Rebels in live action, but at the very least a slightly different perspective on some of those events. If I had to guess it would be mostly focus on Mon and the experience of being passed around like so much cargo, helpless to watch others risking their lives on her behalf. More character focused, less action.
To make a WWII drama analogy; the Rebels episode is akin to a movie about a bomber crew making a dangerous run, while the Andor episode of the same event could be akin to a movie about the civilians below huddled in a bunker, waiting for the expositions to stop and the all-clear to sound.
It should probably be worth remembering though that by the time season 2 comes out (probably another 18 months to 2 years), 'Ahsoka' will already be out and as anyone that paid attention to what was shown behind closed doors at celebration knows; the Ghost crew are already heading for live action, and it's a reasonable assumption Thrawn will be too. So it's not that much of a leap to use any or all of those characters.

I think a much bigger talking point would be Tarkin's personal Destroyer going down over Mustafar, no?
Personally I'm rather curious which one of those supervisors is meant to be Kallus' boss.

None of this will be referenced in "Andor" and I'd be shocked if the Rebels crew ever appears (and I truly, deeply hope they do not.)
