Spoilers Titans - DC Universe Series

I feel quite differently. I've never seen a screen production write the adult, full-fledged supervillain Luthor as well as Supergirl did.
Agreed. ("You're right! I have to give myself cancer!" My wife and I still  at that line.)

And with all due respect to LaxScrutiny, Cryer made me forget his decades of nebbish roles immediately. His performance nips at Rosenbaum's heels for GOAT live-action Lex.

Gene Hackman was pretty good, but a little too comedic for me. If the movies had been full on comedies he might have worked better, but they were a little too serious for him to really work for me.

Hackman has done amazing performances in both comedic and serious roles. He was absolutely brilliant in Unforgiven as just one example (a justly deserved Academy Award.)

As Lex Luthor he gave his best as always, but he had to give his best with what he was given by the writers and what was desired by the director. Not my favourite Lex, but still one of my favourite performances.

Eh, I think Hackman's Lex worked wonderfully in the context of the Reeve movies. No complaints or caveats at all here.

He worked well enough as the villain in that movie. But the villain in that movie did not have a lot in common with the comics' Lex Luthor. Robert Vaughn's Ross Webster in Superman III was a far more credible Luthor than Hackman's Luthor ever was. Not only did he foreshadow the post-Crisis reinvention of Luthor as a supervillain behind the facade of a respectable businessman, but he actually had a large organization rather than just an idiot henchman and a moll.
