Gotham Knights television series

Okay, I assume the woman in green and purple is connected to the Joker, but I can't get any clues from the others' outfits.

Gotham Knights follows the story of Bruce Wayne's adopted son Turner Hayes (Oscar Morgan), who is framed for Batman's murder alongside multiple children of the Dark Knight's foes

Morgan (Masters of the Air) will play Turner Hayes, whom Bruce Wayne adopted following the murder of Turner’s biological parents. Resilient and determined to live up to his adoptive father’s name, Turner has never felt comfortable in Bruce’s world of wealth and privilege.

Keegan (Days of Our Lives, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series) plays Duela, the unpredictable daughter of the most dangerous man in Gotham. Born in Arkham Asylum and above all a survivor, Duela is also a brutal fighter and skilled thief.

Robinson (Raven’s Home) will play Carrie Kelley, an idealistic teenager who talked her way into being Batman’s unlikely sidekick. She’s the first to rush in to a dangerous situation, so long as she can make it home by curfew.

Okay, so they're going with the "Joker's Daughter" version of Duela Dent/Harlequin. Apparently that's how most modern comics have portrayed her, even though in the original continuity, that was the first of many fake supervillain parentages she claimed before she was eventually revealed as Two-Face's daughter. Batwoman portrayed her as Two-Face's niece (played by Alessandra Torresani).

Interesting. This will be the live-action debut for the Row siblings and Carrie Kelley, though they've appeared in animation, and Carrie was name-dropped in a Titans episode. It'll be the second live-action Stephanie Brown, following her Batwoman appearance.

Are the Rows related to a supervillain in the comics? I've read the of Harper's (I can't remember if her brother was in them too or not) early appearances in the Snyer/Cupollo series, and I don't remember any mention of her/their parents.

I did some additional research on Duela, and it turns out that, even though her last name is Dent, she's not actually related to Harvey.

This looks really bad.

Where are the actual Batman characters?
Also, they cast another redhead character with a black person? This is getting silly now.

I wasn't the target audience for this anyway, but that trailer was terrible. Nothing about this looks good.

What have you wrought, CW?

Everyone these days always tries to come up with such convoluted, bird-based excuses for why Batman calls his sidekick Robin. People forget that in his debut as The Sensational Character Find of 1940, it was explicitly stated that he was named for Robin Hood. And of course that was also the basis for his costume design.

Original source or no, it's a pretty big stretch today to name the son/partner of a crime fighting billionaire after Robin Hood, a character best known for robbing the rich.

Probably doesn't make as much sense in 2022 when Errol Flynn isn't a couple of years away. Batman doesn't drive cars with big batheads on them either.

Elsewhere, I compared this show, based on the descriptive blurb, to Runaways and The Gifted, and after seeing the trailer, I stand by that. It also has shades of Smallville and Riverdale, and even if other people are panning it, I'm personally excited for it.

Batman over the years has had a large number of 'surrogate' sons plus the real one (Damian) why does CW feel the need to make up a new character? What's the point of even using the Batman connection if you're just going to ignore most everything about it anyway?

The one good thing is the CW is much happier to cancel shows these days so it won't last long.
