2259 SupposedlyDo we know what calendar year the first season covers?
And to add to the above, there's no reason to believe it'll be 1 Season = 1 year.Do we know what calendar year the first season covers?
Though he also said he isn't sure.More specifically, I believe Anson Mount has indicated season 2 is not necessarily one year after season 1.
That's probably because they've gotta spread or squish 5 years into however long this thing runs.More specifically, I believe Anson Mount has indicated season 2 is not necessarily one year after season 1.
Well We're already 2 seasons in so far (season 1 is the bag and Season 2 is half way done with shooting. They already shot episode 6 by the time Mission Chicago happened so they're four episodes away from finishing) I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a season 3 renewal after the first season aired. but who knows. That's probably because they've gotta spread or squish 5 years into however long this thing runs.

That's Colonel Potter's log entry."Captain's Log, stardate 8398.5. We're in year 12 of our five year mission..."
Oof, that’s going to be a tough one with the current season episode count…. TOS season 1 had close to 30 episodes…. It will take SNW about three seasons to equal just that…. When DSC’s fifth season is done, it will still only be 65 episodes, still not eclipsing TOS in episode numbers… Higher production values come at a cost, literally….I would love for this series to surpass the original series episode count. Hell I wouldn’t mind seeing it go 100 episodes. Every two seasons is one year lol.
That's the point of stardates.TOS is already massively overloaded with plots, especially if you include the novels (where there are multiple first and last mission stories). So long as they keep away from calender dates they can probably do Stardate [bollocks random numbers] forever.

I remember that being the one think I actually liked about the kelvin movies. They used the actual year plus whatever the actual date was (I.e. 2233.04 = January 4, 2233)I hope the writers don’t use calendar years in this show. Just using random stardates.
