VOY Season 3: False Profits

A reasonably amusing episode. I enjoy the Ferengi actually outsmarting Janeway several times in a row, and they offer nice counterplay in all their condescension, sanctimoniousness and smugness. Both parties end up on opposing sides of the wormhole where they don't want to be. (and both are necessary, one for resolving the situation on the planet, the other for continuing the series).

And most importantly, an episode that doesn't take itself too seriously.

"Mudd's Women" was definitely a product of its time, with the eponymous white women whose only goal in life was to be married, and of course every human male (except Mudd himself, apparently) -- and only the males, of course -- who struggled to resist their attraction and remain professional in the face of the women's beauty. But what the heck, I was a girl in the 60's, and I found something empowering in Eve's speech about whether her chosen mate would rather have empty beauty or a real, if flawed, woman. So, props for that.

"CARBON CREEK" may not have been a comedy, but it was light-hearted

You're right, of course -- don't know how I missed that that was also an option for this round! But as I liked the episode anyway, no regrets on my vote.

It's getting harder now. I'm glad some of you took some of these other ones out...because...ick... I just wouldn't have been able to bring myself to do it.

I'll take TAS "More Tribbles, More Troubles" out...it's one of the most memorable TAS episodes, and it does have a few funny moments that I still chuckle at today.

Wow, this game is flying! I love it. There are still so many remaining that I adore!

Perhaps it as an UNEXPECTED choice (eye roll), but I'll go "Unexpected" next. What can I say, it's funny because it's happening to Trip.

Also want to give a shout-out to DS9 S1 "Move Along Home" which really should have made the list. It's one of those 'so bad it's good' things for me.

Episodes that are only funny in a so-bad-it's-good way were intentionally excluded (this list would be soooooooooo much longer if they weren't, there are just so many of them), though now I am wondering if there is enough intentional humor to "Move Along Home" to warrant it. It always felt to me like it was aiming for feelings of "dark mystery" and "suspense/jeopardy" and any comedy was of the purely accidental or glancingly incidental variety, but if people disagree I can add it to the master for next time.

I also enjoy Scott/M'Ress, including the "morning after."

Huh. I think I clearly need to rewatch that one.
