Fun fact about the episode title. The French-Canadian title for the Voyager episode ‘Drone’ is ‘Assimilation’

I missed the sign there so I stand corrected.

Last September I visited Seattle and there were homeless encampments around the city, specifically near the underground tour. That was why I differentiated encampments with sanctuary districts.
Well sanctuary districts basically are giant homeless encampments

Oh God. Seven, Raffi, and the Security Guard. :guffaw:

EDITED TO ADD: Turns out Janeway's a lot better at negotiating with the Borg than Picard.

I keep forgetting that Seven wasn’t in Future’s End. They brought the wrong Voyager member back. I wonder what Sarah Silverman’s character is doing at this time?

The Watcher has to be Ducane or Spiner.

Rick & Morty namedropped! XD

Yeah. He’s far too young to be watching that

I know younger kids who are addicted to that show, but I don't know how I feel about Rick & Morty being in Star Trek canon now. I mean, aren't there multiple Star Trek references within episodes of Rick & Morty? And Mike McMahan of course worked on that show and now does Star Trek Lower Decks. Ahh! My head hurts!

just assume those Trek references don’t exist in the Rick and Morty of this universe

I am really, really enjoying Picard this season.

First, while not exact, the time travel sequence was done in such a way as to have a similar feel to Voyage Home. Nice.
I have really enjoyed the interactions with the Borg queen and the partial assimilation of Dr Jurati. Even isolated and strung up, the Borg queen has a smarmy grin which illustrates how dangerous she is. She just sits there like a loaded gun, waiting to be fired at some point during this season and I am totally there for it.
I feel almost bad saying this, but there was something really refreshing in that when Elnor was shot, Raffi was too angry and saddened to talk about it. She snapped at Picard, but afterward, she just wanted to get on with her mission.
Finally, I just feel like the overall episode just moved forward quickly. It didn't feel like an hour passed and the episode was over before I really expected it. I am definitely looking forward to seeing how the remainder of this season unfolds.
