Hasbro's Power Rangers era and General Tokusatsu discussion

What gets me is how many prisoners there must've been. I mean, Luke and Han were able to pass off Chewie as a prisoner being transferred. The guards were not surprised by the presence of an unfamiliar Wookiee prisoner, which tells us that the detention levels must have been pretty well-stocked with prisoners. So Luke probably killed a bunch of fellow rebels, sympathizers, and the like.
Zero efforts were made by the rebellion to rescue them.

I don't think it's the children who would've changed -- I think it's more that, over time, the adults making children's shows have gained more respect for the intelligence of their viewers. Or at least they understand that the shows have adult fans as well.
=D

EDIT:
Just finished "Ten Gokaiger".

It was awesome, everything I wanted in a "Gokaiger 10 years after".

Somehow, I feel that works really well to have the role transition from father to son.

Very Traditional Japanese like of them to pass the role down from father to son. Especially a very iconic role.

I'm sure his dad taught him everything he needs to be the iconic character.

I just discovered, though it was announced a few weeks back, that Antarctic Press is launching a five-part comic book series in February titled "Spectreman Heroes", showcasing several classic Tokusatsu heroes.

Godzilla will meet the Power Rangers

https://www.ign.com/articles/godzilla-vs-mighty-morphin-power-rangers-crossover-comic-boom-idw

When Rita Repulsa uses an ancient artifact to transport herself to a universe without Power Rangers, she finds herself in a world with aliens, kaiju, and… Godzilla! Hoping to annihilate this new foe, Rita hurls her own terrible creatures into battle. But she never expects that the Rangers have followed her to this alternate reality, pitting the Dinozords themselves head-to-head with the King of the Monsters!

The highlight will be the fight between Godzilla and the dragon zord

Godzilla sues the DragonZord for copyright infringement?

Has there ever been a crossover between Toho and Toei properties before? I think there was an Ultraman/Kamen Rider crossover special once, but that was Tsuburaya.

Zero-One,Zero-One,Zero-One....

Do they only post the first two episode of the Kamen Riders? I was looking through their videos and that was all I could find for each series.

That's what they do with a number of the series on that channel. Some are there in their entirety but only have the first two episodes subtitled in English.

There are three complete KR series up on ShoutFactory's site, though, and I gather Zero-One is coming soon. Hopefully they'll continue adding more as they go.

Is that some kind of a gear-shaped topknot on the Red's helmet? Weird.

RangerWiki says that Red is DonMomotaro (after the legendary "peach boy," hence the peach motif), Yellow is OniSister (demon), Blue is SaruBrother (monkey), Black is InuBrother (dog -- funny, I thought it was a cat), and Pink is KijiBrother (pheasant). A male Pink Ranger? That's a first.

Ah, and these are all characters from the Momotaro legend. He befriended a dog, monkey, and pheasant when he went to battle the Oni on their island. Interesting, then, that an Oni is one of the team members.

It's also a reference to the Zenkaiger like Gears they're using because the zenkaiger gears are going to continued to be used but now its a shuriken.

Red,blue and yellow are human actors with pink and black being CGI characters

Before pink was revealed some people described the shape as "Slenderman" looking

Enyarideon is reds bike

Definitely getting "Akira" vibes from it

Also getting a bike and the return of pleather must be a Go-busters homage.

That's weird. Is that just to save money by reusing the toy molds? Or do they just want to have more of a standardized/interchangeable toy system from season to season? The Sentai Gears make sense for that, I guess, since they already cover every season to date.

Oh, yeah, I think I remember you mentioning that before. That explains why they look so different in the poster. I thought there was just some weird perspective thing going on with InuBrother.

As I remarked before, I just pray the CGI is animated and composited better than Cutanner and Ricky in Zenkaiger are.

The bike looks like it might transform into a bird-headed character or robot of some sort. Looks a bit like Secchan, even. Maybe connected to the continued use of the Goshikidas' Sentai Gear system.

1. I think they're building up towards the 50th anniversary with Zenkaiger being the beginning point- Juran and Kaito are coming over in some capacity.

Some have speculated that the franchise might be taking cues from "Ultraman" with past series elements resurfacing.

Momobrother is coming very soon to Zenkaiger as teased in last months magazines. He's supposed to be using a GearTLinger before transitioning to his own changer.

2. I don't expect Toei or Sentai to get an increase in budget and judging by that bike picture we're probably going to get more of the same

Is the bike on the ground or floating? You can't tell. It's a low budget CGI transposed image with Red added. There's no weight or shadows. You can clearly see that nothing was ever at that filming location.

Maybe it's too much to ask for. The show is targeted at an audience much younger than ourselves who just don’t care, and because of that cheap CGI is acceptable in their direction.

Enyarideon is also supposed to combine with Juran. Here is what toy information has come out

DonBrothers' Mecha

Mecha this year involve DX mecha, and Alter mecha, which are sold via the Change Heroes line. There is only 1 DX mecha in the first quarter, but a bunch of Alter mecha. It is unknown how the two lines interact, if at all, outside of Change Heroes being able to ride the EnyaRideon.
Don ZenkaiOh:
The combination of EnyaRideon and Zenkai Juran. Has a Great Icarus motif from Jetman. There's where the eagle head comes into play

Don Momotaro Alter:
A cgi power-up form for Don Momotaro that lets him fight as a robo. It is activated via his personal Gear Alter.

ToQGer Alter (1go Ressha):
A ToQGer-based train Alter Mecha that is summoned via the ToQGer Gear Alter. Combines with Don Momotaro Alter to form Don ToQ Momotaro Alter; which looks like the GunTank from Gundam.

Zyuohger Alter (Eagle/Lion/Shark Cube):
A Zyuohger-based box-like Alter mecha that is summoned via the Zyuohger Gear Alter. It's assumed that it combines with Don Momotaro Alter to form Don Zyuoh Momotaro Alter.

Don Onitaijin:
A mysterious future combination.

So to break it down. We only have one DX mecha and Donbrother's robot for which he can use past sentai robo as armor pieces/formations

Don Onitaijin could be the true 5 piece mecha for the team
