More Classic Star Trek Games Might be Re-releasing soon

^^Like Klingon HG this is another Trek game with another publisher to chase, but if they can get through the mess that was the ST Activision licence then everything else should be a walk in the park at this point.

Already got Elite Force. I will get them all eventually as I've never played Away Team, Hidden Evil or SCIII. I look forward to Armada 1 the most (never cared too much for sequel due to increased game speed). I used to play with my friend back in the 56k Modem days but never finished a game due to 2 hour cut off time or someone wanted to use the phone ;)

Elite Force runs really well so hopefully they all will. Wouldn't mind Star Trek Dominion War but the game was quite buggy so doubt GOG will want to fix the game and then make it run on modern systems.

Really enjoying Bridge Commander, but I forgot how little time we spend on the Galaxy class :/

It was pretty much impossible to get the original CD release of Elite Force running on a current computer, so I wonder how they worked that out. I hope it will accept original CD keys, that way I don't have to pay again for something I already paid for 20 years ago.

I liked Klingon Academy. Especially because it was possible to edit one of the config files and use the "fire while cloaked" bird of prey in multiplayer mode.

These are not the games you own on CD from back in the day as GOG tweak and add stuff to get these versions to run correctly on modern systems, and they are very good at it, so your cd key won't be of any use here, but these GOG versions are really not that expensive, they are guaranteed to run, they are digital so no cd rrequired, and GOG always have good sales so you coukd always wait and catch it cheaper.

It had perhaps the best soundtrack of all games ever.
What was that cheat?

If I recall, if you clicked on the import ship tab, then clicked the game's desktop icon, it imported the USS Kirk which you could sell for 999,999 credits and basically give you infinite money to buy everything you wanted on a ship.

@Kor Sorry, but I have to say that's not true. As a long time player and host of many multiplayer events, I can assure that EF is very easy to install and run under every Windows version ;)

@Haggis and tatties: Ordinary they do that, but sadly not with the re-release of the Star Trek games. My co-host had a closer look at the EF version from GOG. He is not only a software developer, but also a modder for EF and the difference between the CD and GOG version is just a few bytes. They only added a No-CD-fix and didn't touch the rest. No tweaks, no information how to play in widescreen and most important no fixes of the security issues. The vanilla and gog version opens the door wide for hackers, so it's not safe to play this version online. For that you really should install one of the community patches.

Well, I have to say this post on the GOG forum looks very familiar :)

It is true they can't do a remastered, but small things would be nice and are easily done. For example they could let you choose your desktop resolution in the gog installer and copy the right config into the game folder. That way they don't even touch the game code and many new players would be happy. In the past they even included important information (Freespace 2) or fan patches into the game (Far Cry) and now we didn't even get the manuals. It is of course really nice to have the possibility to buy those amazing games again, but I would have expected more from gog.

Just downloaded and replaying Generations. Fantastic. Wish Bridge Commander still had the multiplayer option!
