The Animals That Aren't Dogs or Cats Thread

“Ya got any Lucky Strikes to go with these MREs, cookie? The smoking candle is lit.”

If they have to see this gif to act on it, they aren't doing their jobs. Really, they most likely checked and decided it was still okay. Unless it's from one of those dumpy zoos, the keepers tend to be top of the animals' safety. I've worked at two zoos as a volunteer and an intern at two of the United States' top zoos and the keepers get funny about the safety and welfare of the animals under their care.

I think it's from Atlanta Zoo, which seems to be pretty good.

I guess this bird didn't like interference while it was trying to fish.

Stop ignoring me, stop ignoring me, stop ignoring me

Apparently I'm the only person around where I live who is not a complete asshole to horseback riders. The two ladies I see all the time, I have said I'm the nicest bike rider they've run into, and another lady talky and last time I saw one of them told me about a run in they with an asshole bike rider. Back when I first started riding I stopped for couple minutes to talk to another lady, who also told me about a run in with an asshole. Then today during my water break at a park, a different couple of ladies rode by, and my bike was kind of in their path so I asked if I need to move it, and they seemed shocked I asked, and then thanked me 2 or 3 times as they went by. I just find it kind of sad that apparently it's that rare for people to run into a decent person. And you'd also think more people would be more cautious around a 1000+lb animal with a person, and in the case of one of the ladies I see all the time, and a pregnant woman, on it's back.
