I think that no one disagrees that some people have no issues with depictions of nudity or sex. I was just responding to your (HTC's) question, "why would anyone care?" There is, before now, more evidence of people having attitudes similar to ours (nuanced) than to a world where it's a non-issue.

Holy shit, loved this one. So much to unpack. Boimler grinding the Borg sim to 100%, and teaching the Borg Queen compassion. The "Naked Time" stuff with ace Billups' just sitting there reading his tablet while everyone boinked. Episode names as simulation. Novelverse Andorian surname for Jennifer.

Agreed. I was riffing on Roddenberry's answer to Patrick Stewart's question of "Wouldn't they have cured baldness by the 24th century."

Does the personnel give consent to the use of their physical images like that? This is way beyond kissing Holo-Brahms.
this is a good question, given the kind of stuff we’ve seen in the past, where everybody can recreate everybody in a holodeck and have them do whatever they want, I can only imagine that 24th century ethics and laws about the use of someone’s image are very different than ours.

Since the drills are public, the nude crew can be seen by everyone as well - and no one cares XD
well, no one cares to be seen naked in the shower either. And in many parts of the world a lot of people don’t care about nudity.

WoK uniforms have the FC badge
didn’t notice that! Well, I guess it was another mistake from the incompetent trainer!

Boimler wasn’t the only passing officer.

Barnes passed the Whale Rescue test if you look at the scoreboard in one shot.
i’m not sure she passed, I think she was doing good but the simulation was still in progress.

It's really obvious how anyone would feel about their most private parts being shown in a sexual context to all their colleagues. Everyone can watch replays of it. Simulation or not, your own body being featured 'fully functional with multiple techniques' will be extremely embarrassing and a severe violation of privacy. Just imagine it happening to anyone you know. People were upset about being used in romantic, seductive form in TNG already, this obviously, obviously, goes far beyond that. (Sometimes I really wonder why things need further explanation XD)
That's why (in the GR Universe) anyone upset in the 24th century can see the Ship's Counselor (or a Love Instructor ;)).

Yeah, this is starting to set off debates, alright...
Yes, the Psi 2000 and Tsiolkovski/Enterprise-D incidents provide Starfleet with multiple grounds for creating a "medical doomsday scenario" training exercise...and yes, that also runs up against Standards and Practices...and since this was on cable in Canada, I wonder how long before the first complaint gets filed with the CRTC about the content.

I LOL'd at the "Naked Time" segment. And I guess this marks the first time that oral sex has been depicted (or very implied) in Star Trek since in that segment two naked women were shown getting intimate (one of them a Trill) and the human woman seemed to be going down on the Trill.

*snaps fingers* I knew I was forgetting something!

Two more thoughts:

1. I think we can all agree the computer not recognizing Boimler, the Borg Queen saying he's almost human, and other things are all leading up to the fact he's not a transporter clone but Boimler's good side.

2. I think Freeman leaving the gang is something meant to show that she really does have some serious flaws as a captain. I like the acknowledgement in-universe that Mariner's criticisms of her mother aren't all invalid.

There's a lot of hints that Boimler isn't a transporter clone but split into two like Kirk.

* Only one Boimler volunteers to return to the Cerritos
* The Cerritos doesn't recognize Boimler
* The Borg Queen says he's "almost" human.

Ha! That would be such a fun reveal. Give me a finale face-off where the Cerritos must save the Titan from evil William Boimler!

The cliffhanger could recreate "Descent", with William replacing Lore and the Pakleds replacing the Borg.:bolian:

I haven't commented much this season. I haven't disliked it, but it's never good enough for me to feel like offering any particular praise. I usually just feel episodes are "pretty good" and gently amusing rather than laugh out loud funny. This one was good though and I actually laughed. I thought the plot worked out well too. I had fun! Borg babies are cute.
