TOS and Prime movie era. Also, the movie Klingons shouldn't be lumped with TNG/DS9 Klingons IMO, as they looked and acted differently.

Kruge was pretty much the beginning of the TNG era type Klingons. Star Trek III Klingons were very similar to TNG Klingons.

Kelvin film Klingons! They're really badass! Of course in the movie they get their collective asses kicked by one man but it's a genetically enhanced one.:D

It's hard to really say considering the era and time in which they were made due to resources and so on.

80s movies - a slick look, slightly rubbery like overcooked octopus.

Berman era - more rubber than in that very special club my ex couldn't stop frequenting... mostly innovations on the design that started in TMP. Easily the most effective design up until a certain decade... but most of it's leather and rubber... and that highly contagious virus of which they speak because the great tribble hunt speeches got boring...

DSC - the most detailed, they also remind me of insects with pincers on their heads just waiting to attack. There's a greater authenticity and style than any combination preceding. They get my vote too.

TOS - whenever you need extra boot polish and enough spare material for a new wicker basket or two (because sci-fi was seen in a different way back then*), they'll be there.

* like a bunch of baby birds, they're cheap cheap cheap

To me, the movie Klingons are an extension of the TOS Klingons. They were ruthless, and they weren't going on and on about honor, and all these honor-bound rituals. They generally seemed more cunning and intelligent than the Klingon oafs who would show up in the 24th century. And, significantly, there was absolutely no indication that the movie-era Klingons put any importance on this religious belief system with Sto-vo-kor, Gre'thor, etc.
