Spoilers The Bad Batch - Season 1 Discussion [cue A-Team theme music]

Cad frealing Bane! Wooo! Always liked his episodes in tcw!
Hope they do more with him than a cameo.

Looks like crosshair got bbq'd a bit..

^And it looked like he was having some headache. More side effects?

I hope they find a way to repurpose that duel between Cad and Boba for The Bad Batch.

As soon as the episode ended this is what I figured will happen. I don't see how Filoni could pass up using that scene. It would also be cool for Boba to meet another unaltered clone (which is what I'm thinking Omega actually is).

Whose unaltered clone could she be?

Then who is the fifth enhanced clone mentioned by the Kaminoans in the pilot?

I still think that's Omega. When it comes to what the Kaminoans believe to be enhanced, it might not necessarily mean what we think (super strength, being a crackshot, etc). I just think there might be some kind of curveball coming... but I'm probably just overthinking things.

With the way this one ended I have a feeling we'll see him next week at least.

Didn't they say she was another Jango Fett clone? If so, then she'd pretty much have to be altered, since as far as we know he was genetically male.

I'm not sure how that would work. It's not like taking a clone from a plant. If you take genetic material, could there be a chance that material could still become female? I don't know. Just a theory that popped in my head.

Strictly speaking no. Yes they've said she's a clone, but not specifically who she's a clone of. It's probably Jango, but it could just as easily be someone else.
If it's like humans, all of the clones would start out as female by default, before developing male anatomy.
I won't get into a discussion about the function of the Y chromosome or the development process of vertebrate foetuses, but suffice to say that it's not quite as straight forward as that.

So while yes one can produce a female from an XY fertilized egg though hormone treatment (or rather the withholding thereof); we're talking about people with the science to grow millions of clone zygotes invitro from nothing but tissue samples (I assume) and tailor VERY specific gene modifications as wanted. Switching the Y to an X would be trivial and offer far better control over the results since they'll want to be editing the sequences to their preference anyway.

Episode guide is out, and Cad Bane's concept art has a curious metal plate on his head

I saw a theory that it could be that the Boba/Cad Bane dual from the animatics did happen, and that's the aftermath of it.
His outfit is also based on his outfit from that unreleased episode.
His ship is also in the concept art gallery, but didn't show up in the episode, so I guess it will appear later.

Well this is interesting. This week's episode guide concept art gallery features Cad Bane's new character model sheet, and it seems that under that hat, Bane has what looks like a metal plate grafted to his head...right where the distinctive dent is on Boba's helmet. So maybe that unfinished episode is canon after all?

Weirdly it also includes features art for the Justifier (which has had a not insignificant redesign). Maybe the staging of the last scene was altered late in production?

ETA. One minute. You beat me by one minute! ;)

OK, I couldn't remember what exactly they said about her origins.
I believe they were already known as great cloners before Sifo-Diyas went to them, so I would assume they must have made other clones of people other than Jango.

Yeah. The thing is that those Kaminoians talked about creating the clones, while talking to Obi-Wan in Attack of the Clones, like a dealer trying to sell features for a new car like heated seats, etc. You'd think they've done something close to the scale of create a huge army... What did they do before....?

At scale? Probably clones for hazardous labour like mining, certain technical and material handling tasks that droids are either unsuitable for or cost prohibitive over the long run. Hell, for all we know they made the Ugnaught species!
They've probably done military type clones before given their confidence, but more on the scale of private security forces or small specialized commando units for independent systems, wildspace despots, and underworld syndicates.

The Grand Republic Army contract was probably the first time they combined the two approaches.

Something smaller scale would be my thought, especially since the Republic had no federal army, so sector security forces would need bodies.

Now that part never made much sense: judging by the exchange with Obi-Wan whom they mistook for Sifo-Dyas' colleague or successor, the Kaminoans weren't supposed to be in on Sidious' plot which involved hiding the existence of, not just the Grand Army of the Republic, but also the planet Kamino itself!

So when Sidious unilaterally hid the planet by editing the records, what happened to Kaminoan advertising?
