The least disliked episode 2021 - TOS Season Three

BlueStuff

Rear Admiral
Rear Admiral
Our addictive biyearly game of rapid elimination returns - now able to include Disco's third season as well as the debut years of Picard and Lower Decks. It's generally a lot of fun, providing a chance to mentally revisit those episodes you may not have thought about in a while. With that in mind, why not play again?

So, here's the game. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your least favorite or the one you deem the 'worst.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you eliminate another episode.

No tactical voting! You cannot remove an episode just because you feel they would threaten your preferred episode's chance to win.
Pretty simple. Enjoy! :bolian:

So many choices to choose from in S3. Here goes nothing....literally and figuratively

Sorry to all the Federation kiddies out there, but The Gorgon gets whacked. Melvin Belli in a shower curtain dress...:ack:

And The Children Shall Lead is the first victim. Bwa-ha-ha!

"Spock's Brain" is a no-brainer, in more ways than one.:D

In "Paradise Syndrome," Star Trek brought us Hollywood Indians decades before Chakotay. And like the horse ranch of Generations, this situation seems like an unlikely "heart's desire" for the JTK we know. I vote the episode gets hit by an asteroid.

@BK613 your post is invalid; you have to wait until at least two other posters have played before you can play again.

However, it doesn’t matter because I’m eliminating Turnabout Intruder anyway. Not a fitting final episode.

Goodbye to "The Way to Eden". Hippies in space was about as subtle as hitting the viewer over the head with a sledgehammer. Not to mention they're ridiculous "Steppin' into Eden" 'jam session' with Spock on his Vulcan harp...

The episode in no way "reached" me.

I should probably abstain. In my opinion the entire Third Season should go.
Only a few rise above the level of "Awful"

But, if there's one left on the list that leaves no redeeming value it's "Let That Be Your Last Battlefield"
Honestly, I know they wanted to say something about racism, and we could sure use a good message on the subject today, but a ham handed preachy holier-than-thou, virtue-signaling episode like that is just unwatchable.

It doesn't even have any Ladies to put Bill Theiss's diaphanous dresses on.

"The Mark of Gideon" gets the boot, for all the obvious reasons: How could they build a replica good enough to fool its captain for more than 0.1 seconds, how could the bridge crew get transporter coordinates mixed up, how would the Gideons have learned about Kirk's having caught the disease years earlier, etc., etc. I knew it was stupidly written when I was 12 and saw it on NBC.

Except for Jan Shutan, The Lights of Zetar doesn’t excite me at all. Bye, bye lights. You didn’t pay your electric bill.

Requiem for Methuselah is my favourite episode, so I think it only fair I eliminate that inevitable choice myself :) :)

Okay, it had some vaguely interesting concepts in it, but "Requiem for Methuselah" makes no sense.

Intensely creative Immortal guy with incredible technology and the wisdom of hundreds of lifetimes
decides to Cuckold himself by sic'ing his beautiful, but utterly-devoid-of-personality android chick on Kirk...
And Kirk falls for this lifeless doll enough to duel to the death with the guy?

No. Let it pass unmourned. Let there be no Requiem for "Requiem for Methuselah."

@BlueStuff Forgot about that rule. Sorry

Spectre of the Gun is out, I don't like western and at that point in the series I've really had enough of the "look at these existing sets and costumes" money saving episodes. I also don't like the solution, the illusion can kill you unless you're convinced it can't or in Chekov's case if you're horny.

I have a tough time sitting through "The Cloud Minders" even though it has a great homage to Wile E. Coyote.
