That's most likely our UFP president.

don't think we will get that from Discovery. They have decided this is their path.
Why hate the feeling? It just is, and if it isn't for you then I hope you find something that is!And that is why right now I'm having difficulty with Discovery. While I didn't like how Picard ended and rank that series pretty low in terms of all the new stuff so far, it was only one season and I'm going into season 2 with an open mind. This is season 4 of Discovery and I hate to feel with Discovery the same why I feel about something like The Flash, which is a feeling of can this series be over soon?
Ok, I'm probably going to get really criticized for this, but I thought it was kinda corny. I'm tired of these doomsday plots, and I was really hoping that now they are situated in the 32nd century things might be done on a little more of a smaller scale. Also the whole "We're all in this together" thing is so annoying at this point I just have to roll my eyes. The picard trailer was better.![]()

Yeah...I guess that's the answer and I guess I won't understand. But, I hope it's more than the basic assumptions we have thus far from this teaser.Well, I'm going to still watch it because it's Star Trek. I don't want to come across as one of those "Hate watching" types you see on Youtube, and there were things I like about Discovery. I just wish Season 4 offered up something new rather than something we've seen for the last 3 seasons.
This is not to be like other Treks.Shouldn't this thread be spoiler tagged? And I'm not really keen on
coming from last season's galaxy threatening Burn, and the season before that having a galaxy threatening Control AI, and now we have a galaxy threatening anomaly. It gets a bit much. None of the other Trek shows compounded galaxy wide threats year after year. They either develop just one over several years (DS9's Dominion and ENT was building this with Romulans) or just deal with more "normal" problems (TOS, TNG, VOY)
I think this might finally be our opening to find out what happened to the Cardassians, since I don't think it'll happen in Picard.
Isn't that OK to be over something? Genuine question that I, in an apparently never ending quest, cannot seem to get answered.
Fair enough, I guess. As I said to tomalak above this might be a POV I simply will not understand. I hope Strange New Worlds is what you are looking for.It is. I’ve given up on more than one Trek show. But Discovery came at the end of a long drought of Trek on TV, and it’s still the closest thing to the original formula of “boldly going” space opera we’ve gotten from All Access, so it’s hard to let go. Believe it or not, I want to like Star Trek, and I keep watching in hopes I will. Season 2 and 3 weren’t bad, so I was surprised at how negative my reaction was to this trailer.
If Strange New Worlds delivers, I might find it easier to jump off the ship.
Which ones? The only one I disliked so much that I completely quit was Lower Decks, after 5 episodes. It is. I’ve given up on more than one Trek show.
I've added a spoiler tag and an international mirror to the OP.
Changed the uniforms already, to yet another variation on a coloured shirt. They do look less bland though, at least.
When they said that this season wouldn't have a traditional villain I was hoping for an exploration story, but it looks like the galaxy's ending again. A shame.
It seems like they're doing everything they can to avoid that. Perhaps so they don't lock in writing possibilities for Picard or any other pre-32nd century shows.they could spend years exploring what happened to familiar Trek species so there's lot of stuff for them to explore already, plus whatever else they might have cooked up.
