Spoilers What are your unpopular Sci-Fi & Fantasy Opinions?

This conversation about Boba Fett reminded me of another character who's treatment I found kind of strange, Phasma. They made a big deal out of her before both The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, but then she was barely in both movies. She was only in a handful of scenes in TFA, and then after she got the book and the comic between the movies, I thought maybe she was going a bigger part of The Last Jedi, but she ended up being in even less of it than she was in TFA.
Still a better character than Fett.

Fett is barely a character. Just a cool suit like phasma.
I didn't say it wasn't hard for Phasma to be better. Simply that she is a better character than Fett.

More so, Fett is highly overrated, largely because of being a cipher for audience to fill in, thus making him more accessible and easier build up in to awesomeness.

He is cool, in that he has gadgets, and seems a badass, until ROTJ at least. But as a character, he's got nothing. Even AOTC didn't add to him in any way.

Phasma just comes across another asshole commander, of which I bet there's plenty in the Imperial ranks, but was she anything more this? I don't know anything about her any more than fett. :techman:

A true believer in the First Order until it violates her own self-interest. She is condemning of Finn and suffers from her own errant thought processes that are reflective of Finn's own. I may not know a lot about her but I understand her and get her so much more than Fett.

I actually do like Fett, but only because of the stuff of the stuff done with him in AoTC and Clone Wars, and the current Marvel comics. Going just by The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, he's barely even a character.

I remember the biggest disappointment in RotJ was how easily Fett was defeated. There had been so much made of him being a formidable foe.

I guess I was just only exposed to the films and his fact file on the back of his action figure card. He simply never struck me in any way as "formidable." He was decent enough, but just enough, to be a threat, and that's all.

I always wondered how sarlacci managed to take a thousand years to digest prey...which don't actually live that long.
