As announced just a few days ago by Gigi Edgely on the official Facebook page, Farscape has joined the Comic Con at Home's convention schedule with a curiously titled panel: "Farscape...To Be Continued." The panel includes Edgely, Rebecca Riggs, David Franklin, Lani Tapu, Paul Goddard, Ricky Manning, and moderated by Kirk Thatcher.

I honestly don't know what to expect, other than a fun discussion about this amazing show. Maybe, hopefully some kind of announcement...

Not much of a surprise but no real news. Kirk Thatcher reaffirmed the small news that's been going around that Rockne O'Bannon and Brian Henson have been working on ideas about how to bring back Farscape as a new series. So fingers crossed as always!

The whole panel was a lot of fun but it was especially great to see how much these people still love the show so much all these years later. Gigi Edgely was particularly gleeful with everything she said and how she grew up loving productions like Labyrinth, The Dark Crystal, and all things Jim Henson Creature Shop. Towards the end of the panel, Thatcher asked everyone what they thought their characters would be doing in this hypothetical series and they all had great little answers (and Ricky Manning took notes...).

I think an animated series would be a cool way to "continue" Farscape, unless they want to jump forward 17 years.

And Gigi...still super hot.
I'm continuously astounded how little she has aged. Simply amazing.

As for an animated series, I wouldn't be all that keen about it for the same reason I wasn't keen on animated series of The Dark Crystal and I was grateful that they committed in doing almost entirely all puppets and practical effects (obviously there was some CGI, but only as enhancements). One of the many charms of Farscape were those extraordinary creations from the Jim Henson Creature Shop and I think it would be a terrible loss not to have that them in any kind of filmed production of that universe.

If nothing else, this pandemic has been good for all the Zoom reunions.
Yes, it has. There have been so many great reunions thanks to Comic Con at Home, Josh Gad, Stars in the House, Sid City, and so many others. So if nothing else, that's one good thing the pandemic has given us.

As far as animated, I was considering the age of the actors. If they wanted to continue on only 5 or 10 years after PKW, it would be a little hard to do with live action.

But something happening 20 years after PKW would be about right.

Well, they're not that old. :p

Granted she's the youngest, but Edgely looks pretty fit in her early 40s. Same goes for Ben Browder the last few times I've seen him in something (Doctor Who, Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol 2). Don't know about Claudia Black or the rest of the cast.

Claudia Black has still been popping up in the occaisional guest role on shows, and she could definitely still play Aeryn with no problems. Not sure about Anthony Simcoe, I haven't seen him in anything other than Farscape.

Even if they came back for another mini-series I'd be ecstatic! What is the universe like after 17/18 years of "peace"? How did John and Aeryn manage as parents? What's D'Argo Sun-Crichton up too? What huge event would bring back all the remaining characters? Might we see a return of Zhaan?

There is so much they could do.

Did D'Argo (aka: Big D) survive and was he held captive for lo these many years? Still lots of bad guys out there no doubt. Star Wars showed us that ending the big war doesn't get rid of the forces of evil.

If it did come back, I would love to see them use the comics as part of what happened between it and Peacekeeper Wars. It would be a great shocker if they picked up with John and Aeryn were at the end of the comics.
After a big war against a new alien race introduced in the earlier comics, John and Aeryn end up in charge of the Peacekeepers.

She does live streams on Twitch. She has been going back through Farscape for a time and live commenting on it.
I didn't even know about that until she mentioned it during this panel. It's been awhile since I've watched, so I might have to tune in.

Yeah, I really enjoyed the post-Peacekeeper Wars comics run, especially the side run with Scorpius. They left a few dangling threads, particularly with Akhna and something she mentioned...although I forget what it was now.

I would be also curious to see if they ever follow up what Rockne O'Bannon's short story "Horizon" established.

I've actually only read the first arc of the comics, I just stumbled across how the whole thing ended while looking around online a while back.
I do plan on getting back to the comics soon though, I thought that first arc was great.

I think it would be great to see the show come back. I like the idea that earth has found away to go out into Space after 18 years and combine that with seeing Rygel's home planet for the first time.

If they count the comics, it would be the second time. They did comic arcs set on Hyneria, and on Pilot's homeworld, clearly taking advantage of the infinite budget of comics.

Then you need to track down all of the trades because it's a great read! If nothing else, there's the library!
