Strange New Worlds is a return to old skool Trek. And we ALL know what that means!

    A visit to Earth's past/our present

A Prime Directive/primitive society episode with lots of speeches

    A holodeck malfunction episode

An episode where an alien virus ravages the crew

    A divisive fluff episode

    A cringy captain/alien romance episode

None of the above. Modern Trek (God I hate that silly term but apparently it's a thing now) has shown it doesn't need the standard old Trek-tropes to tell good stories. Looking forward to what kind of new and fun stuff SNW can bring to the table.

    - Every other episode will be about Section 31.

    - At least six episodes about no money in the Federation and how crazy current-day Earth is.

    - At least fourteen episodes about Pike being kidnapped by aliens.

    - A Borg episode (screw continuity, you know they can't resist doing one).

At least one crewmember goes bananas.

    Unnecessary prequel to TOS episode.

Characters who don't get along are stuck together and discover how much they have in common.

The inevitable crossover episode. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if the next series that gets the greenlight after SNW has a sort of backdoor pilot on SNW, like the various CSI or NCIS spinoffs have on the parent show.

And of course, Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis are going to show up at some point.

Set after TNG A Matter of Perspective, Riker and Deanna (note: no effort is made to cover the fact that Frakes and Sirtis have aged thirty years) go to the holodeck for an adventure on the Enterprise under Captain Pike. But a lingering effect from Dr. Apgar's experiment means that events from the program pose a threat to the Enterprise D, meaning Riker and Deanna must work with the holographic versions of Pike and his crew to save the day.

Pretty sure that is what they have planned for the series finale.

He'll appear at least every other episode, because Disco Sarek seems to have his nose up Starfleet's butt.

    Remake of The Cage.

Shore leave at Pike's horse ranch in Mojave, CA (coincidentally, Mojave is the current home to Spaceport USA. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mojave_Air_and_Space_Port!)

Flashback of Pike getting Enterprise from Robert April.

Flash forward of Pike handing over Enterprise to Kirk.

McCoy's divorce ('cause no one has told this story yet).

Spock's previous Pon Farr, and how he came to love Plomeek Soup (hint: Number One makes it for him -- Spock realizes he has "a type" for crushes).

I would have said Pike's accident on the training vessel, but Disco already covered that one.

. at least 4 episodes meeting aliens on their planet/ first contact, and every time it's a village/ small-town culture with a touck of new age thrown in.
    - a crew member or guest star who wants to be/ is supposed to be more human(oid) because...
    - in each and every episode we learn that humans are flawed, but also the most interesting, promising, dynamic culture since the invention of sliced bread and snowflakes
    - Frakes cameo: In the very last scene, we learn that the whole show, as well as DSC, was just Riker's holo fantasy. (Or maybe Barclay's?)

Does anyone do those anymore? At the very least, it really wouldn't serve a purpose on a streaming service exclusive show like this.
