I'm calling it. The soundtrack will be done entirely in kazoo.
I doubt both will be held back until January. I can see one premiering late Summer/early Fall, and then the other in January. If I were to guess I'd say Disco first, then Lower Decks. When they will start showing Discovery S3 and Lower Decks may depend on the availability of the next series (Picard S2 or SNW). I think the initial plan was to release Discovey S3 and Lower Decks in 2020 and then Picard S2 in January 2021. But if Picard is delayed then they may want to have something else for January since it seems to be an important month to them. So it is possible one of these 2 series maybe held back until January but more likely they will do more Short Treks for that.
I said one maybe held back not both.I doubt both will be held back until January.
Short Treks have usually been conceived and made during production of Discovery. And they never make any advance announcement of it. So it’s very possible they did a few during Discovery season 3.I highly doubt we're getting any Short Treks this year, unless some were already done up with Disco's third season. Certainly possible, since IIRC the first batch of Short Treks were filmed concurrently with Disco's second season.
Last year's batch were filmed separately. Indeed, I think the Pike ones filmed May and June of last year, and Children of Mars filmed in August. Disco season 3 began filming in July last year.Short Treks have usually been conceived and made during production of Discovery. And they never make any advance announcement of it. IIRC, that's just a vague "summer."What is the date they are supposed to re-launch CBS-AA?
I think CBS is hoping for an Indian Summer.IIRC, that's just a vague "summer."
SDCC at home is set for July 22-26. Completely free as long as you have access to the internet.I said November. I still think they want to bring out Lower Decks and have time to promote Discovery.
I keep seeing something about a virtual comic con. When is that happening? Hopefully we get some announcements for both by that time.
Although overall Canada does seem to have a better response to Corona than the US, IMO it's still too soon to talk about Disco S4, Section 31 or SNW beginning production. They film in Toronto, which is still one of the more hardest hit areas of the country. Indeed, the province of Ontario is still reporting over a hundred new cases daily, though the number is steadily going down. Regardless, even in California where the state government has authorized production of TV and movies to begin again, the various labour unions involved with production are refusing to work until a time they feel it's safe to work, and that effectively prevents Picard from filming anytime soon. Even in Toronto, the unions might have a similar attitude, preventing the other shows from going into production.I am curious longer term. Maybe we should have a poll. Which show will air after Disco? It is essentially Canada's vs. California's COVID response. California opened back up and exploded with new cases. Canada flattened it's curve and appears to have effective leadership. Picard was/is ready to resume preproduction, but will that happen? Is Disco S4 almost ready? Is the S31 show still happening and up next as it was stated to be ages ago, or is SNW next in line in Canada?
What show will make it out next?

Let's see who turns out to be right in the end.
I voted July.
Between editing at home and getting creative with how to record the music, I think it'll take until about then.
