Spoilers TNG vet confirms discussions of character appearing in S2

Bring Gates McFadden back and of course the news form Levar Burton is good to hear more TNG characters will be returning. I hope the tv writers will give them a good story like they did with Riker and Deanna Troi had in Nepenthe

My biggest wish for Picard is that Jean Luc and Beverly Crusher reunite and maybe they finally decide to settle down together. It would be nice to see them together in the end.

I loved how Patrick Steward and Gates McFadden cultivated this mostly unsaid romance between the two characters over TNG's run. It is a shame this was largely ignored in the TNG features.

I honestly don’t think Burton is in a position to say that he or anyone else from TNG will be in the show. It sounds like a lot of wishful thinking to me.

So this series that we were told was not a sequel to TNG will become a sequel to TNG? Stop hedging your bets on the older cast and develop the characters you have now. I liked Rios and Raffi in Season 1. I want to see more of them (And Soji) in Season 2.

Well, they didn’t so much say it wasn’t a sequel; it just wasn’t TNG 2.0. As in, Picard, Riker, Worf, Troi, Geordi and Beverly serving together again on a starship.

I thought Chabon said it wasn’t a sequel?

Did he? I just heard the TNG 2.0 comment. But, of course, PIC is by its very nature a sequel to TNG. Unless Chabon is implying that it doesn’t take place in the same universe as TNG. Which would explain the Discoprise hologram.

The interview was okay. But I feel kinda bad for Burton, because he really should have been in this season.

I mean, Picard is not particularly close to Geordi of course. But he was Data's best friend. And he was also very close with Hugh. It would have made logical sense for him to be the only regular from TNG to be involved in some way. Maybe working with Hugh on The Artifact, or at least stopping through?

Now, LaForge will get some sort of cameo, but after the show bid farewell to two of his closest friends. Hopefully he'll at least get a chance to reflect upon it. I'm guessing Geordi will be bummed.
