we will never know the secret...mostly because it will break our minds

The Romulans created the Borg. And Rios is a Hologram. And Oh is actually a Vulcan double agent working to genocide all Romulans. And Soji, the Destroyer, is the Borg Princess, conceived offscreen by Data and the Borg Queen in First Contact. And Worf is the mastermind behind all of this.

I don't think Seven's relationship to Icheb would be tranferable to any old Borg Drone
Indeed, I enjoyed Seven going all Outlaw Josey Wales on the crime boss. Living by the feud is old school humanity. The Federation has always sucked at policing the borders so I am surprised something like the FR didn't become a thing a lot sooner under other names. Heck, a guy like Quark could make a fortune creating a private security contract service.

Speaking of the boss lady, you think she'd have one of those security transporters before the bartender would. I'm all for saving a good bartender but what the hell?

Well after 4 episodes that break insomnia, my hopes have been restored.
How have your hopes been restored? I tried watching this episode today at work but I'm having problems with my browser. So I'm just reading all the spoilers here. This is the first time I've ever willingly spoiled myself when it comes to new Trek. That's never happened before. I don't know what's happening to me but I just can't get excited about tv shows anymore.

I’m probably looking too much into the line, but Maddox’s reference to Soong stuck out to me. Could ol’ “Often-Wrong” still be around in some form?

Hey, does Rios ever check the logs on his holograms? I am curious how Jurati is going to explain that death. Why is the medical hologram so easily turned off in a medical emergency? You can never shut the things off when they are trying to kill you but they shut off like a light bulb when their function would be of critical importance? I've come to accept design flaws like that from Star Fleet vessels ever since TOS but a private ship that depends on a holographic crew should be better.
