Not saying that there weren't...I was countering the extreme assertion that it wasn't a family show.

I got an email from CBS All Access earlier this morning that includes a countdown timer. As I type this, 2 days, 14 hours, 5 minutes, 12 seconds.

I work Thursday, and have kids, meaning I can't really see it before 9 PM when they're in bed. If I want to see it early I have to do one of three things:

    1. Get up way earlier than normal (say 5:30) in order to ensure I have enough time in the AM to watch before work.

    2. Watch it at work. I typically get in before work starts by about 30--45 minutes, and have watched the last couple Short Treks that way. But that's not really enough time to watch a full episode of something.

    3. Experiment with the "download and play" option on CBS All Access, and download Picard onto my tablet. My bus ride into work is around 35 minutes, so if I add to that my "before work time" I should be able to watch the whole episode before 9 AM. Problem is I have to trust their download system, hope it downloads fast enough between waking up and getting out the door, and remember to have my ear buds on me.

How exciting that in just 3 days we will get new Star Trek with Picard. The 18 year wait is finally over. Hard to believe!

So is this the same for CBSAA through Amazon? I'm actually a little confused on how this is supposed to work. It's only on Prime for people outside the US, right?

I ask because I've been considering getting CBSAA through Prime for a while and t his is as good a week to switch as any. For one, it's one less bill and also I really don't like the AA player. But that would be silly if it's just going to be on Prime anyway. Now that the Short Treks are done for a while and M-Sec is over, I could cancel my sub until Disco starts again.

Apparently if you're already signed up to CBS-AA as a standalone, there is no way to link up your account with Prime. You can only due that as a new customer.

Whatever feelings I may have against having to wait longer for it are negated by the fact that I don't have to pay for it.

For us Voyager fans, it's been almost NINETEEN years!

Up until word got out this past summer that Seven of Nine was coming back, we thought "Endgame" was all she wrote. :(

It is. Sorry, I guess I'm just wording things funny. Since cable has been part of my paying habits since forever, I just view it as money already spent and don't even register it anymore, whereas a streaming service is extra money being spent. So I guess I should say, I don't have to pay money for Picard that I wasn't already spending anyway. That I haven't been spending anyway since the day I became a legal adult and had to start pulling my weight on these matters.

If you're on Prime (outside the U.S.) it drops 24 hours later.

We don't know that yet. Could be sooner. 24 hours is only the latest that they've promised.

Does CBSAA check if you’re behind VPN? I know Netflix and Amazon do and will show you a big fat middle finger if they detect it. They don’t always detect it, so it’s still possible to do VPN but it’s not trivial. Don’t know about CBSAA practices in that regard
