I don't need to believe anything. This thread has demonstrated that the timeline does not add up for the type of plagiarism asserted.

The fact that CBS is willing to pay their lawyers to go to court and go through discovery means that they believe they are in the right. Otherwise, they would settle, as it would be less money.

Those facts speak louder than belief.

They did? Please provide a link to that. (Not that I think you have one because they HAVEN'T - but for you to realize this you'd have to have READ the case filings; and you obviously haven't done that either.)

The timeline doesn’t add up with some of the accusations.

For one, the Tardigrade. While it has been known (by anyone who knew the game existed) for a couple years that the game was using one, the fact that it was human sized, and was used as a form of space travel for the characters wasn’t publicly revealed until mid 2017, a few months after Discovery had already written and filmed their episodes with their tardigrade ideas.

This can be confirmed by looking at the upload dates of all the YouTube videos related to the game, and reading the developers own blog where he keeps track of game development.

Another one is in character similarities, the character design he says Stamets is ripping off, wasn’t publicly revealed until after Anthony Rapp had already been cast in DSC, so they couldn’t have done that one.

If you read all of the publicly released information on the game, from steam posts and his blog, DSC shares none of the same story points at all. No 20000BC earth, no ancient civilizations, not based around a space station. None of the characters have remotely the same jobs or personalities.

Most of his case based on visual similarities, not plot/story. Not the actual substance of the project.

I also suggest reading this www.plagiarismtoday.com/2018/09/11/understanding-the-star-trek-discovery-plagiarism-allegations/

Yes we do have access to files. The document Abdin uses to claim CBS admitted to copying him is online in it's entirety. In fact, pretty much all the letters filed by Abdin's Lawyers and CBS' Lawyers are available online, because at this stage in the proceedings there is no sensitive information exchanged.

Here: http://axamonitor.com/doku.php?id=tardigrades_dismissal_motion scroll down a bit, on the right side above an embedded youtube video is a green box containing a download link for all 31 pages of the motion to dismiss as a pdf. Look at it yourself, find me the part where they "admit" to anything of what you (or rather Abdin) is claiming.

But we do have access to court documents. Court documents are generally a matter of public record. Here: http://axamonitor.com/doku.php?id=tag:tardigrades_lawsuit&do=showtag&tag=Tardigrades_lawsuit
Most of the documents and motions are linked in those articles for you to read yourself.

If one doesn't wish to believe what is posted on the AXAMONITOR site (for whatever foolish reasons)...
A simple GOOGLE search of "ABDIN vs CBS COURT CASE" will prove who's correct.
(and for the record, it ain't Mr. Abdin)

The first FIVE sites that pop up contain the actual court documents that can be downloaded to ones home computer or you can just read them. (some have a fee attached)

Personally, I find this one to be the easiest for newbies (including myself) to navigate and understand...

    https://www.pacermonitor.com/public/case/25398554/Abdin_v_CBS_Broadcasting,_Inc_et_al
(also, this site automatically updates any actual court proceedings and/or official documents every 24 hours)

This site will let you read some of the official court documents without a fee...
    https://www.courtlistener.com/docket/7690236/abdin-v-cbs-broadcasting-inc/
(both in PDF form and copies of the actual court papers)

I dont want to read any gibberish court documents i can barely comprehend. This guy got a nice blog and everybody should just root for the underdog and stfu....

.... well actually i read through some of the court documents and as it appears, i might have been a little over enthusiastic with regard to the outcome of this case.

There is in fact a slight chance, that this guy added a few of the „similarities“ afterwards. But on the other hand this could also be one of these global scale media conspiracies to deafen the ones without power. Meh, who can tell apart right from wrong anyway in these crazy times, lets just all pretend, that my last few posts didn’t happen, alrighty?

There's no shame in finding that one could possibly be wrong about something and be able to admit it.
I've been stupendously wrong on many an occasion around here (as well as many other times in my life), and have swallowed (choked on) my pride and admitted it.

I'm kinda thinkin' that his first sentence in that particular post, was very much tongue-in-cheek.

Though I'm sure there are more than enough other folks out there who truly believe it actually works that way.

Done. I always appreciate when someone can admit they may have been wrong. It shows maturity, so good on you.

He should take this to a court worthy of him, not Judge Judy but one of the lesser court shows.
