Though an independent launch of TB4 isn't always a practical thing :) They only ever did it once in the original and that had Thunderbird 4 rolling down Thunderbird's runway.

Iiirc the original series had Tracey Island in the South Pacific not too far of the coast of Australia so I guess they are keeping it there in the new series.

Yes, the implication is it's still in the south pacific (despite the space elevator from TB5), and this rescue was a direct launch to a region near the current great barrier reef, suggesting TB4 can move at several hundred mph underwater.

IIRC, in the original series TB4 launched and was then picked up by a navy ship.

TB4 in the new series has launched from the island on more than 1 occasion, but we've never seen it in detail.

Haven’t watched this in ages. Must be on season 4 by now.

Season 3, they did the first 9 episodes last year, then stopped. They've just started up again for another 9.

yep - happened after the World Navy nearly shot down Thunderbird 2 - it was the episode when they tried to move the Empire State Building.

Only to get there quicker. The ship that picked it up was supposed to be fastest ship at that time.
I hear that Jeff Tracy is finally coming back with Lee Majors voicing him. I would have had Daran Norris myself.

Will be interesting given that the show has pretty much stated that Jeff is dead (killed while piloting an experimental craft that would lead to the development of the Thunderbird craft)

I never thought that was the case. Probably on a mission that needs everyone thinking he’s dead.

Yeah, if they'd found Jeff's body there wouldn't have been the bit in the pilot eps where TB4 goes looking for a transponder that is using Jeff's frequency, nor would they have been so deflated when it turned out to be a wild goose (although it wasn't actually, just not the goose they wanted).

Although this could be a flashback ep or one of Grandma's inspirational stories...

This seems to have happened prior to Jeff's presumed death. It's stated in the episode that the TV-21 was abandoned to prevent The Hood from getting his hands on it. In the season 01 episode, "Recharge", there's a scene where Scott talks about having not been able to save him.

In addition to reprising Parker, David Graham is also reprising Braman in the upcoming episode, "SOS" part 1.

After the fun with the giant space lazer at the end of season 02, it seems that the GDF have one as well :)

At least Thunderbird 4 is back this week. Albeit a new one, rather than "gluing" it back together, like the last time it was destroyed.

From the information given in the latest episode, TB3's maximum attainable velocity is about one quarter of the speed of light
as it would take it ten years to travel 2.5 light years
. Accelerating at 1g would take about 90 days to reach 0.25c and the same amount of time to decelerate from that speed. If the
Zero-X really did have FTL capability eight years ago
, how come Brains hasn't reverse engineered it by now?
