I get frustrated when I get a hole in my garden hose. I ended up getting wetter than the plants but it did feel pretty good.
Sending positive vibes Scribble. My mom has been feeling weak the last few days and yesterday it was so bad that she asked me to go shopping for her and go down to her basement to clean her cat's box. I asked her if she thought she might need to go in somewhere like the Emergency Room and she told me that she had called her nurse. When I got back from shopping she told me that she had an appointment this morning at around 11.
I had to cancel my first therapy session, which, thankfully is only an intake session, but was able to reschedule for tomorrow. The most important thing is that I am able to take my mom to her appointment this morning.
I've been told that chemo can have a cumulative effect on people and that toward the end they can end up feeling exceptionally weak. I hope that's all this is, but it does concern me that her team thinks it's serious enough that she needs to come in to be checked out today.
I sure hope they can get her feeling better quickly. Please take care of yourself. My mom had her labs this morning. She was weak and cold, but she was not running a temperature. Her labs were fine other than low protein and potassium. Her doctor asked her to stay and get some fluids in one of the chemo rooms. When there was a room open for her they told us that it would be about two hours. I decided to go home for a while and let her nap. She was going to call me when she was ready, but I decided that I would be there waiting outside at the two-hour mark. I called when I arrived and there was no answer. I called again about ten minutes later thinking that maybe she was napping. No answer. She called back a few minutes later saying that she's running a fever of 102.7 and she wasn't sure if she'd be admitted. I gave my keys to the valet and went to see her. She was having blood drawn, had a bunch of blankets on her, and she was shivering and confused. They took her vitals again and her heartbeat was 124 and her temp was 103. Her doctor was called and she said that they were admitting my mom to the hospital. I was in the way so they put me in another chemo room. Her doctor walked away for a little bit. Then, a few minutes later, her doctor ran back to her room! I was already panicking. This sent me over the edge. They were sending her to the emergency room for medical intervention. I hadn't had my insulin yet and I haven't eaten anything all day so I'm home for a little bit. I'm going to head back after I take my insulin and eat.
Frankly, I'm scared as shit right now.
I’m so sorry this is happening. We’re all rooting for you both (((Hugs)))My mom had her labs this morning. She was weak and cold, but she was not running a temperature. I hope they are able to get everything under control. All our thoughts are with you and your mother. Hugs and all the positive energy your way.
Awwww. I’m sorry.Thank you.
They were able to get her to stop shivering, but she did not say what her temp was. They moved her from the ER to a regular hospital room. I'm not sure if she'll be coming home tomorrow or if they'll keep her for the weekend.
I'm a little calmer, but while I was at her house giving Trouble dinner I checked her Ring doorbell history because someone had rung it earlier but I couldn't access it (thanks, Ring!). It was her neighbor across the street. Before I left her house I went over there. Her neighbor's husband had died.
This day keeps getting better and better.![]()
