Hello all! I thought it would be fun to try Least Disliked elimination game putting all the various showpiece eps of a single Trek antagonist race against each other. After starting with the Ferengi and Borg, on to the first list that includes every Trek series: the Klingons! Anyway, THE RULES. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. Below is a list of Klingon episodes (and movies) from all seven series. Eliminate your least favorite or the one you deem the 'worst.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, please leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you eliminate another episode. No tactical voting! You cannot remove an episode just because you feel they would threaten your preferred episode's chance to win. As usual, it's a bit subjective where the cut-off is, how Klingon-y a story has to be to count as a Klingon episode. Hopefully people like the determinations I made as to what merits inclusion on this list, but, if you think something doesn't even belong at all, feel free to use that as a reason to eliminate it. I would eliminate ENT's "Marauders" because it made the Klingons look like sissified little wimps; there's no way a Klingon would retreat from a few minor scares, they would have fought the death. The episode would have been far more strong, sensible and serious if the Klingons had been killed. But the first two seasons of ENT were terrified to kill a living soul, so it never conveyed any sense of danger & intensity in space travel.
@Defiler-Of-Redshirts, make sure to repost the list with your choice removed. An excellent first elimination... I hate "Marauders", the Klingons were rarely dumber than that. And I will eliminate TOS "Elaan Of Troyius." Ugh, that episode grates. The title character makes it essentially unwatchable. Well, that was until the season finale, and the Klingon War just kind of ended as it was the end of the season, and time to start fresh. The way it was done was such a deus ex machina. Sons and Daughters. As if bringing Alexander back wasn't already a shaky enough premise, they treated him as a one-note joke for 45 minutes and had him accomplish nothing in the episode. Removing Sword of Kahless. It’s one of those DS9 episodes where characters behave uncharacteristically childish. Sort of like in the worst sitcoms how characters just become spoiled angry children (On theme of their ‘Single defining personality quirk’) for the episode then make up at the end. And it’s preposterous anyone would think this sword would actually bring order to Kronos, and equally silly they found some sort of contrived wisdom in throwing it away at the end.
