Star Trek V and Insurrection - two of my least favorite Trek movies - did have thunderous Jerry Goldsmith scores to help liven things up.

I didn't even like the score for insurrection. I thought it was very generic 'by the numbers' goldsmith that he was churning out by the 90s that was quite dated sounding by then. I much preferred his work on nemesis which used the original TMP theme much more amongst other things

TMP is really fun when paired with Daft Punk's Tron Legacy soundtrack

"Star Trek VII : Generations" brought the practical DS9 jumpsuits to the Enterprise crew, IMO opinion it's the best looking outfits since the first two seasons uniforms of TNG. Also those jumpsuits were actually a nod to TOS jumpsuits which was why I'm bias of the design. The musical score for the movie by the great Dennis McCarthy which sounded like one of those grand western movies was the best thing going for that film, and I'm shocked he wasn't asked to return for other movies. IMO it was the best score from those terrible TNG movies. Besides TMP and STV I thought Jerry Goldsmith's later score didn't fit TNG movies, I wasn't a fan of them at all.

The DS9 uniforms do look good in Generations, especially Picard's spiffy jumpsuit which they made especially for him. If you notice, several scenes have him wear a belt, which makes the uniform look even better.

The cinematography and FX were the best thing about generations. The FX was the equal best with nemesis and the cinematography was the best in the TNG series of movies hands down. Generations is simply gorgeous to look at.

Gosh, when I saw the Bulky and very hot looking FC uniforms I initially thought the movie was taken place 10 to 12 years in the future; it presented an evolution of the design. I wasn't born when TNG film FC premiered, but when I gained knowledge those impractical outfits was just a year and half apart, and IMO were a de-evolution of the DS9 outfits, I thought of this to feel rushed and not thought through, sounds familiar with TWOK, but the difference was TNG had all of the time in the world to make some educated decisions but in a flash they petered out in just four movies with a lot of pretty dumb ideas, and lost all of its authenticity. A sad way to go out after being one of the most highly watched and revered series in television history.

I agree with that 100%. What a wasted potential...each film got worse and worse. In the end, I almost walked out of Nemesis.

Nemesis had a great soundtrack by the late Jerry Goldsmith. It fit the films tone well in my opinion

I agree that Goldsmith's Nemesis score was a lot better and ballsier (that Romulan piece was sweet). But I didn't hate the movie Nemesis so it wouldn't qualify for this thread of my least favorite Trek movie.

Agreed. Nemesis almost always gets uniformly spat on. I actually like it almost as much as First Contact...and better than Generations and Insurrection.

Great visuals, great music, pity the movie up to that point wasn't set up as good as it could have been - too contrived... It had the right feel (dark, serious, big threat) but that plot really needed a few more rough drafts. And for being such a superior ship, the Scimitar, the Enterprise is the one that slices through it with the least amount of damage. Doesn't stop me from wishing that clip was released on a 4k blu-ray as a 200x repeated outing. With a making-of with detailed rundowns on the f/x involved.

But I'm a sucker for anything that rams.

First positive comment (well, it's a backhander). This movie gave me a greater appreciation for the acting ability of William Shatner. He was likeable.

Actual positive comment. It was nice to see Chris Hemsworth in this 'universe'. Briefly albeit.
