I'm a bit behind in posting this due to ... LIFE & DEATH.
    But anyway, here's the U.S.S. CLARKE NCC-1661 ...

I cringe every time I see the Klingon ships from last season, they look rubbish.

I just think of it as a time period when the Klingons had a rag, tag fleet composed of 24 opposing houses and everybody wanted their own distinct look for their starships.

I just think they could have done better period, all they had to do was use the D5 or give us a D6, it wouldn't have been so bad if the ships we got at least looked somewhat Klingon but they don't.

It would have made the battle in the pilot so much better, the Sarcophagus ship could have stayed as it is due to it being ancient and a one off.

The Klingon ships they came up with looked too much like the Alien Ship of the week we were used to seeing on Voyager, they did a good job with the Starfleet ships only to make a mess of the Klingons.

    Just a shame that's all.

Well, if They start showing us classic Klingon ships this season, then we can just write it off to learning that there's more to the Klingon Fleet in this time period than we knew.
I don't mind if They add more types of Klingon playthings, as long as get to see the originals mixed in as well.
On the other hand, if They add stuff to Replace Only, then I have a problem with it.

DSC Klingons: Those Starfleeters have pretty nice ships with their simple angles and grey hulls... It would be honorable to adopt some stylistic motifs in our next line of warship.

Perhaps, but I'm thinking now that L'Rell has taken over, she'll be the one to standardize the Klingon Fleet back to something akin to Captain Archer's time.

I would love to sit in on a designer's meeting for the D7.

Klingon: BUT WHERE ARE ITS FANGS, THE TEEETH? THE SPIKES!
Klingon2: That was soooo last empire.

I'm not denying that these models are overly expensive, but the Discovery line models are larger than the regular issues. So that's probably where the different price comes from. :)

Whichever House commissioned that starship class, they really wanted "War" as a class name...

They’re about the same size as the $40 specials, I think the extra cost is probably due anticipating smaller production runs.

They are a little larger in scale, but the Classic Trek line is all over the place with the size of the ships so it's hard to tell.

The DISCOVERY subscription line does come in a fancy box with better packaging and the freebies seem to be a bit higher in quality, so I guess that's where the price increase came from.

Looks like Issue #11 in March is going to be the U.S.S. SHRAN NCC-1413 ...

    [IMG][IMG]

"The U.S.S. Shran NCC-1413 is a Magee-class Federation starship and one of the smallest class in operation in the 23rd century.
The ship had a unique nacelle design that ran around through its saucer section.
It was also one of the Federation starships to answer a distress call from the U.S.S. Shenzhou after it came under threat from Klingon forces.
The conflict - which became known as "The Battle at the Binary Stars" - led to the destruction of the U.S.S. Shran.
It was later commemorated with a display in the mess hall of the U.S.S. Discovery."

(I've edited this paragraph from the EM site, it had atrocious spelling and incorrect info)

They have the cleave ship facing the wrong way, unless it backs up into the enemy.

The paint job on the Shran is much better than I'm used to from Eaglemoss. I mostly never get their ships because the paint application sucks.
